For the last 3 weeks or so i have lost all bbc channels (apart from HD) in NG5 4LH, my TV has inboard freeview and the signal is from Sutton Coldfield, the screen shows no or week signal any ideas

My antenna serves a block of flats. It is directed at the Leamington Spa transmitter. I understand that this transmitter only delivers a 'light' service. Is this the reason why I only receive a small range of Freeview programmes? Should the antenna be turned towards either the Lark Stoke transmitter, or the one at Sutton Coldfield?

IPG Derwent: This is correct.
Unfortunately the UK now has a two-tier terrestrial transmitter network. It is likely that viewers will wish to receive from full service transmitters where possible.
Leamington Spa transmitter only carries the Public Service channels because the Commercial broadcasters don't wish to invest in it.
Looking on Streetview, there are buildings on the other side of Coventry Road receiving from Sutton Coldfield, and these are as high as yours, so it may be a possibility.
Obstructions such as buildings and trees can cause difficulty with reception. However, your chances could be increased by virtue of the fact that you are in a two-storey building.
Some aerials, particularly those installed in the days of four-channel analogue, only work with certain bands of frequencies (those frequencies that the designated transmitter uses/used). Should this be the case then a Leamington Spa aerial won't be suitable for Sutton Coldfield. If it is a wideband, then it will be suitable.
Recepion from Lark Stone would appear extremely unlikely, according to the Digital UK predictor.
I suppose that it will probably be down to your landlord to do something.

Steve F: Check that you are tuned Sutton Coldfield for BBC, and not The Wrekin. Do this by bringing up the signal strength screen whilst on BBC One. It should say C43 for Sutton Coldfield and not C26 which is The Wrekin.
If you find that you are tuned to The Wrekin, run the automatic tuning scan with the aerial unplugged for the first 30% to miss out scanning of The Wrekin's channels.
If it is tuned to Sutton Coldfield, then maybe it is the signal level which is verging on being excessive. See Freeview signals: too much of a good thing is bad for you | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice

Question, for about the last week when I watch TV late at night (after Midnight) the picture pixelates and the signal and bit error rate goes up and down making it unwatchable. This only happens at night. Do they turn the transmitter down at night? Also it works fine in the day and all connections are sound. From my roof where the digital aerial is you can see the Sutton Transmitter. Any ideas?

Have had very poor signal strength approx 29% from the Sutton Coldfield Transmitter, affecting all channels for last 48 hours. Aerial on roof. Have switched off & retuned but no improvement. Weather has been worse without affecting reception & as far as I can tell nothing in the neighbourhood has changed. Anything else I can do?

I live in a block of flats (a converted mill) in Arnold, Nottingham and recieve signal from here.
The past week, particularly yesterday, my signal has been very bad @Kim
My signal goes off every Saturday, without fail, at 2:15pm, for a few hours. Any ideas anyone?

@Kim & @Sam, as above, we have had a poor signal for probably two weeks or so. Actually, thinking about it, last night I gave up with TV and put the radio on.
@Sam, we had a similar problem many years ago, we checked for local interferrence for 2 miles and there was no consitent identifiable source.
It was interesting how you could state the times the channels would stop and start.
Sorry, not much help, but at least you know others have had the same problem.
