Today, I noticed that last weekend something has changed with regards to the bit rate loss that I receive from the Sutton transmitter. The bit rate loss has always been a constant 700 - 800 bits for the main BBC HD multiplex regardless of the weather etc, and 400 bit rate loss for the new Com 7 multiplex. However, starting last weekend, the bit rate loss had dropped dramatically from 800 down to max 200 bits for the main BBC HD multiplex, but the bit rate for Com 7 has never altered. I can only conclude that either the configuration is being temporary altered for test purposes, or they are going to increase the ERP, or is the ERP of the BBC HD multiplex not 200kw as we are lead to believe. I think that my problem with receiving HD is ERP related, because the COM 7 multiplex ERP is 89kw and gives me 400 bits data loss and the BBC multiplex gives me 200 bits data loss when they alter it. As soon as Monday comes around, the BBC HD multiplex reverts back to 800 bits data loss.

RH: I'm guessing that you normally receive BBC London from Crystal Palace, so it is likely that your reception of Look East is from Rouncefall, which is about 3 miles away @ 50 degrees from your location.

RH: Rouncefall was a new transmitter at switchover and improves coverage of BBC East/ITV Anglia in the south of Essex, where reception of Sudbury can be poor.
It doesn't carry all channels so you would have to continue to rely on Crystal Palace for the rest.

A new channel was launched today using the new local tv multiplex. QVC EXTRA is channel 57 in the standard Freeview channel line up. It will only be a temporary channel on this multiplex till its removed along with the "pop " music channel to make way for the local tv channel CITY 8 when it finally launches on November 3rd.

brian perry: What's the make and model of the box?
I've read on here that some HD receivers have issues whereby they are unable to receive more than one HD multiplex at a time.
With digital broadcasts each signal is a "multiplex" and each multiplex carries several services. So the HD multiplex that carries HD variants of BBC One, BBC Two, BBC Three, CBBC, ITV and Channel 4 is missing.
