I live In LE86LY area of Leicester but receive midlands news (Birmingham) instead of east midlands news, any ideas on how to sort this out? The ariel is in a good position on the roof and this happens on 2 freeview tv's.
Thanks

Tom Latham: your aerial probably points to Sutton Coldfield rather than Waltham. It looks like either will be a good choice for you after switchover. Right now, Sutton Coldfield should provide a slightly more reliable service.
I believe you would get a Birmingham news service on ITV1+1 from Waltham anyway. If you're talking about ITV1+1, check whether ITV1 and BBC One are providing the right service. ITV haven't yet provided a full regional service for ITV1+1, you get the nearest one that they *have* provided.

I have just joined BT Vision and have had three boxes as the signal can freeze and re start and pixilate. This was on an ariel over 20 years old. Had a new digital ariel fitted yesterday and it still happens. Is there some discreancy when receiving analogue signals on a digital ariel.

Hi.
The above switchover details are very confusing. Our TV now gives us a warning that we need to re-tune after 31st March (I guess this is because Nottingham will be switched over after this date). We, however, point at the Waltham transmitter (as Nottngham is too hard to receive in our area) and so I assume our output will not be affected. I have just read though, that two new Mux will appear (I think C29 is one of the channel) at this time. Is this also for Waltham, and in which case, what services will they carry. In fact, looking only at waltham, do we need to do anything before August 17th?
Thank you, Brian.
Regards,
Tim (Nottingham East).

Our tv is saying the same thing, we're on waltham transmiter in derbyshire. I can only assume its because of new muxes, its a bit of a pain lately as all the channel name changes we've had have meant a retune. Mind you, if its getting better then I dont mind, if its more selling channels, adult channels or 'bingo tv' then its going to be annoying indeed.

timonthenet: There are five occasions when viewers to the Waltham transmitter need to retune during 2011.These are (1)30th March when MuxA changes frequency to C29. (2)13th April when Mux2 changes frequency to C31. (3)17th August when Mux BBCA begins on C61 for switchover step1. (4) 31st August for switchover step2 (5)12th October when MuxA/SDN changes to 8k mode and power is increased to 25kW. A further retune is expected on a date to be announced when C61 is withdrawn for inclusion in the digital dividend and Mux BBCA is given a new frequency allocation.

Hi KMJ.
Thank you very much KMJ. I really have become very confused over the past few months to work out exactly what is happening and when. This is the first time that I have seen a direct listing of all the crucial changes to effect us - it's a shame that when the letters were posted out to us all, telling us of DSO, that they didn't give us all a timetable then. We must have had 5 or 6 letters asking us if we wanted new aerials etc, but not a word as to when we would need the change.
Very grateful - KMJ.
Regards,
Tim.
