is there anyone who i can talk with to discuss a transmition problem that seems to happen in the evening, i have three customers (im a installer) who have breaking of two are on pendle repeat and one direct from winterhill,

It is usually because there is a fault that needs to be corrected. Generally, any servicing/maintenance or adjustment work is carried out during weekdays, but occasionally additional work is needed and availability of staff may mean it has to be done at weekends. The staff used for this work also attend to the many other transmitters in the area. As fauklts have to be corrected ASAP, then other work may have to be re-scheduled and that may means some jobs being done at the weekend instead of the originally planned weekday.

Start by looking at BBC - Reception - Help Receiving TV and Radio and contacting them. They may have the answer or may pass you on to someone else as many transmitters are maintained by Arqiva (http://www.arqiva.com/) who also have a Contact Us option. Wotrth talking to them as well I suggest.

I noticed some were off air from this morning - with the maintenance, there's been a pattern of turning off some of the channels at various periods then switching them back on, whatever that is.

Anthony: It doesn't work like that - if your suddenly missing , its because those muxes are too low in strength to be decoded. You almost certainly have an existing problem with your system, but its the low strength of the work that shown it up.

I have just purchased a new sony bravia tv and I am having difficulty tuning all the in including ITV and Cn 4. uk currently states that is giving out a weak could you tell me if this causes the poor tuning of channels and when the Winter Hill signal will up and running.Best Regards

It is quite likely that the work is the cause of your problems, though we cannot be certain as you have not given a full post code. Signals are likely to return to normal once the work has been completed, but there is no indication of when that will be.
