I live up Rock Hill in Bromsgrove. For some reason we are not receiving any programs broadcast on MUX1 (BBC1, BBC2, BBC3 etc). I am sure we used to receive them but since we tend to watch BBC1 and 2 via analogue I cannot be certain when or if we lost them. I have tried replacing the aerial (an old one with elements falling off) but it made no difference. The 2nd TV in the bedroom gets all the programs with no problem. What do I need to do?

Keith Lyall: If you have a VCR or Sky box check that the RF modulator is not set to C34 or C35. Do you have any BBC1 etc in the channel list? If you do, clear the channel list by doing a restore to factory conditions. Then rescan for channels. If BBC1 etc are found before C34+ you will need to do a manual tune on C34 as a weak unusable Mux1 is being detected from another transmitter. If you are able check the signal strength and quality readings on C34 for clues to any reception problems.

KMJ: The VCR was using Ch35 so I switched the RF output off (it is connected by SCART as well). I also rewired the new aerial just in case and moved it around a few degrees. I am not sure which if of these made a difference but I can now receive MUX1 so thank you for your help.

Hi,my mother lives in catshill nr bromsgrove, we have put an ariel in her loft but cannot pick up any itv channels all the others are ok,
i have put a booster on as well and now have a 90% + signal any ideas?? many thanks. kevin.

I live in Droitwich and receive freeview services from the Bromsgrove transmitter. Having just bought a new TV I find that only the UHF channels 30 (MuxD) and 34 (Mux1) receive satisfactory digital signals. However, the set is unable to find any programs on the others. I have tried three other sets on the same aerial socket, all of which work fully on all available channels. Could it be that the new set has been engineered to a different/lower standard and will be fine after the switch-over date (20 April 2011) or do you think that there is a fault with the new set?

Campbell: As you are receiving Mux1 and MuxD now you should be perfectly alright once switchover is complete. Note that only the PSB muxes complete switchover on 20th April 2011. The COM muxes will complete in September 2011 after the frequencies become available following switchover at Sutton Coldfield. It would seem that the tuner in your new tv requires a stronger signal to work properly. This is often the case with more expensive receivers, the most sensitive tuners being in the cheap STBs from supermarket chains.The downside of a sensitive receiver is weak unreliable signals being picked up and channels stored which are unwatchable!

Droitwich
Droitwich WR9 8AH Bromsgrove transmitter.
Have retuned several times both as first time setup and replace all channels.
After retuning BBC1,2 etc are correctly received as programmes 1,2 etc on Ch26. After about 30 secs the receiver changes by itself to Ch41 so that programmes 1,2 etc no longer get a signal. BBC1 is on 820 and BBC2 on 815 where Ch 26 is still to be found.
It is a Labgear FV300 set top box.
