I live in Brighton Marina and two days ago I suddenly lost signal to sky news, e4+1, etc. My channel numbers went from 80 to 64. How has that happened? Nothing wrong with the ariel.

Suddenly (2 hours ago) can't pick up a single Freeview channel. Brighton Kemptown area. Could the fine weather (high pressure) possibly be the explanation, seems a bit strange for it to cause a major shut down all at once?

Why are relays on different frequencies (and have less channels), don't they work like repeaters.. I would have thought they would be all on same freqs as main transmitter in the group.. ie rowridge, whitehawk etc.

jay: If the relays were on the same frequencies then they would interfere with the original transmission, which would be totally useless. It would only be possible to do this (use Single Frequency Networks) if the masts were moved to different locations and everyone moved their aerial.
The public service transmitters (relays) are not repeaters ("active defectors" is technical term) but transmitters in their own right.
As I was always told "You know what thought did - Followed a muck-cart and thought it was a wedding".

If there are no changes at the transmitter then I guess I need a new aerial.
There are no interference problems with my tv - i.e. no other devices?
It seems odd however, that I have lost all BBC channels 1, 2 , 3 4 news etc - yet all other channels are showing as full strength?
Any ideas?
