Emma: If the landlord won't move the aerial, there's not much you can do. You could try using an indoor aerial, but that may not give you a good enough signal for Freeview. Could the landlord put a dish on the house so you could get Sky/Freesat? Is cable an option? If all else fails you might be able to get TV through broadband internet.

Surely best to wait untill the 21st Sept/ 7th. Sept and then see.
After that if problems all tenents will be after the landlord to do something.

Thomas: The BBC transmitter network for analogue is delivered by a multi-routed optical network. If this fails completely, then a professional (rather than a "freeview box") feed is taken from the separate optical-network that feeds the digital terrestrial system.
If THAT fails to work, the next feed is taken from the BBC satellite backup system, which is used to feed Freeview if the optical network stops working.
If the satellite backup fails then an off-air feed from another analogue transmitter would be used, but this network is disappearing as analogue regions close down.

Analogue or digital? I've just checked all the Freeview muxes and they're looking okay. I usually get around 75-85% signal strength.

Do you mean your TV is analogue only or do you think your aerial won't be suitable? Does your TV work at the moment? DSO doesn't start until Wednesday.
