Thank you Dave Lindsay for your prompt reply to my post. It is refreshing to find people are willing to help.
I've been a little while reading your link.
As I've done the first two suggestions already I'm left with the third possibility.
That my signal is too strong.
I am considering buying a new TV and getting rid of the set top box entirely.
If I buy a new TV are they configured so that the proposed signal strengths will be accommodated?
Any advise will be appreciated.

I am another frustrated Freeview user. I live in Ipswich and before the changes in July I received all available channels, except when it rained. Up until mid Novemeber everything was excellant, now I have completely lost all the Arq6 channels. I have reset several times but no luck. I thought that the changes would improve reception, like many others my experience does not confirm this. Am I destined for a life without ch4, film 4 etc?

Dave Pearsons: It looks like you will have to wait until 27th June 2012 to get Film4 etc.

Peter. I've got a brand new TV and new aerial. I live two miles from the transmitter and can't get Film4, Sky Sports, etc. I think it's the low power they're now transmitting the TV channels on channel 63. I'm resigned to the fact that I've lost these channels until June.

I'm not sure why they're broadcasting these channels on such low power. Do they think they'll interfere with the analog channels still being broadcast in London?

And they call this progress.

Sudbury transmitter Mux COM6 ArqB

I have recently lost all the channels on this Mux, which appears due to low power levels of 1100 watts. Are they intending on increasing the power?

Aerial is on the roof.

Mike Cant: As I previously explained I had the same issue (as do many others by the sound of it) I got over the problem by moving the receiver in question to a TV point that was closer to the aerial and therefore getting a slightly better/stronger signal. The re-tune found the missing channels and then I moved the receiver back to it's original location. This worked! but now and again the picture is a bit flakey on ch63
Hope this helps.

hi Kevin: Thanks for that but i only have one aerial point - comes straight from the roof and into the living room and into the tv. Suppose i must wait until sudbury increase the power - must be hundreds of folk with the same problem.

I miss channel 4 - just like i missed my mate when he ran off with my first wife !! haha

I live in Tiptree. When the Sudbury transmitter switched over I reported that I lost ITV4, Film 4 etc like many others due to a very weak signal. Despite retuning a number of times when prompted by the on screen message I never got them back. However about a week later (after the transmitter in Norfolk switched over I think) I had a reminder come up on my Humax recorder to retune. Upon retune I got back all the missing channels (ITV 4, Film 4 etc) from the Sudbury transmitter - a bit of a weak signal but there okay. Funny thing is I lost many other channels (e.g. BBC 4, ITV 3, 5 USA, Dave etc) from the Sudbury transmitter (signal too weak) but found them all again in the 800 number range from another transmitter (probably from Kent / London). It does all seem a bit of a hit and miss affair but I guess will get better when the Sudbury transmitter power outputs increase next year.
