Hi, I get the picture and sound break-up. Happens mostly to the BBC stations. I have read some of the comments and I am not happy.
While Freeview on some stations I regard as a 'bonus', I demand that I recieve the BBC stations as I pay for them. In todays "improved technology" I cannot accept the excuses of 'interference, or adverse weather'.
I wish to recieve uninterupted TV signals. Please help or can you tell me to whom I complain (with a possible threat of witholding my TV liecence fee).
Thank you in anticipation,
R.Lewis (SA32) (Carmel Transmitter)

Briantist,
My aerial is fixed atop of an attached shed roof (shed attached to the bungalow. The aerial is pointed to the Carmael transmitter. (I can see the transmiter from my aerial). I have re fitted the aerial plug to the cable between the TV and wall socket. The cable from the wall socket to the areal is in two pieces. I have re fitted the plug at this connection.( connection is via a "double female socket". I have tried to investigate probable interference from other sources, but I cannot identify that there is any. Reception (poor) is intermittant, and mostly the BBC (Mux). Today it is also the COM6 mux too.
It is so frustrating. Any help for me...please

Possibles:-
1. Signal overload. Remove any booster amplifier. Insert an attenuator at the receiver.
2. Substandard coax allowing interference to "leak in". Joints not a good idea. Replace with satellite-grade cable in one piece.
3. Metal shed roof? Reflection problems?
4. Correct, intact aerial for group C/D?
If in doubt, replace with a log-periodic to
cover all eventualities.

stewart curtis: By the sounds of things, it sounds like you have too much signal and you are in an excellent reception area.

If the splitter has an amplifier you should try removing it and seeing if you get good reception bypassing it. If you do, use a passive splitter (y-connectors) rather than a booster.

P RICHARDS: Yes! but for some reason or another Carmel (@ 16mls / 96 degrees) is not shown on the trade predictor as a possibility for reception at your location, Preseli (@ 12 mls / 310 degrees) being indicated on its own.

The HD Mux on Preseli being Ch50 with Carmel being on Mux Ch57.
