Syd Wall: The answer must be that "something" has changed. Assuming that this is not with your box, then it must be a change, perhaps a slight one, in the signals (perhaps strength) from Sutton Coldfield and/or Lark Stone which means that the "decision" as to which it goes with for the "main" channels is different.
How might this be proven? Where might it get you?
Automatic tuning functions are not infallible when fed with duplicate signals from more than one transmitter. This was the case in the days of analogue and is still true with digital.

Thanks DaveI'm used to the 'odd' numbers now, so with more re-tuning coming up (new HD channels from Sutton but not Larkstoke), I'll wait until the next retune reminders come up on screen. I have to reset all my pre-set recording options so the less often I do it, the better. I could get the local aerial guy round to make measurements to see what the smallchanges might be, but not really worth the cost.
Thanks for everyone's help and suggestions

Bought my Mum a Samsung freeview HD TV a few weeks ago. Been working great until I retuned it yesterday. Did it several times, and every time it is now missing all of the HD channels (101 to 111, 123, 124). Tried factory reset etc. Spent ages googling, and either can't find or don't understand what the problem is or what I need to do. Can anyone help - at least point me in the right direction?
Thanks.

Postcode WR11 2QY, Aerial (on roof) pointing at Larkstoke.
Problem all BBC channels but no others. Screen freezes, then goes blank, many times at ten second intervals . Picture returns and all happens again. Also impossible to change channels when in this mode.
Everything normal when tuned to all other channels.
Retuned Ok on 3rd September but problem occured before and after retuning. Manual retuning not possible.
Local retailer says many, many others are having the same trouble and that it originates from a BBC transmitter problem. Is this correct and do we all have to wait for the broadcaster to sort it out ?

Quest has lost its program information on the EPG but the programs are still available . This means no programs can be recorded. Quest + 1 seems to still work Ok. I have re-tuned one TV and its the still the same . All our TVs and HDR are giving same problem

I have had no messages on my Humax HDR saying a retune is due, but today, I noted that two sports programmes i set to record on ITV4 showed 0 minutes. Looking at the ITV4 channel, it said that ITV4 had moved and I should retune.
All other TV channels on channel 23 are still there..it's only ITV4 that's gone.
When I looked at my LG Smart TV attached to the Humax and my Sony set top box on the kitchen TV, ITV4 had gone there too...no other channels missing.
I retuned the Sony set-top box and the LG TV and ITV4 is back, still on channel 24.
Any idea what's happened?
A real pain to retune the Humax as all the recordings that are set (20 or so) have to be re-entered.
