COM7 is coming it loud (ish) and clear for me with my standard Group B aerial in Brough (HU15) at 53% strength and 100% quality. No doubt I will get some drop out now and again but quite happy to be able to get channels there without investment. Considering the standard MUXs get to me at 65-70% strength its pretty good.

@Dave Lindsay & Michael: Thanks guys for taking your time to write back! Much appreciated. I was meaning to write back quicker but haven't had the chance.

It was in fact, a too strong of a signal, like Dave mentioned. I found the number of the aerial fitter who fit it 5 years ago, and suggested it could be too strong.

Fixed by taking only a few strands of the copper wire and wrapped it round the core thick part of the copper wire. Did this with both TV's and all is working well.

I have the 4G filter still just incase in the future anything goes wrong.

Thanks again for the help.

Cheers
Chris

Jill Kynaston: I would think the only problem you might have is too strong a signal, which can appear to exhibit the same symptoms as too little signal.

Unplug the aerial lead and hold it a few centimetres from the socket. Give it a few seconds and see if it comes back. If it does then I suggest you fit an attenuator to the aerial lead in order to reduce the strength.

oh dear i seem unable to get the new com7 hd channels , i have no problem receiving the other channels , but my humax hd fox T2 box just doesn;t pick anything up on channel32 ..

i'm in a tower block ( with communal ariel ) close to leeds city center and there's a phone mast on the block next door , would that be interfering ? .. might i need a filter ? .. thanks

Peter Brennan: No. Even if you did need a filter it should be fitted into the aerial system and it is therefore out of your control.

The system is probably filtered so as to only allow through the channels used by the transmitter. As channel 32 has never been used by Emley before then that might explain why you can't receive it.

You will need to get in touch with the party responsible, such as the landlord. However, when the Made in Leeds comes on air on C56 in February and when COM8 comes on air on C34 (date unknown) the same issue will come up.

Jill Kynaston at around 4:00pm there was an issue which i notice whiles watching bbc1 hd just wondering if this has anything to do with your issue aswell ? also around that time the signal did drop and come back but only at half the strength it seems and still is for me. btw i normally get around level: 98%, quailty: 71% but it seems over the pass month with nothing changed at all, that am seeing more and more problems yet no understanding why this is :( am guessing its due to works being done for com8 ?
