Please can you tell me why BBC1(CH1) signal level is at about 30% and channel C17 is reading 87%. I live in an area where the signal from the transmitter is strong, yet there are channels like the BBC that are low. Is reflections in the cabling between the antenna on the roof and the TV receiver the cause of why signal levels if the cabling is moved. Maybe when BBC 1 is good I might find CH133 at the other end of the channel scale is showing a low signal level.
I look forward to your suggestions.

David Monk: Having confirmed that you are indeed tuned to Bromsgrove for BBC One by checking that the tuned UHF channel number on the signal strength screen is 26, then too high a signal level could be the cause. Fit some attenuation and/or reduce amplification level:

David Monk: If the signal level varies as the cable is moved then this could be because of an issue with the cable or plug or socket, this sort of problem being much easier to observe with analogue.

I'm disappointed that we can't get all the Freeview HD channels from Bromsgrove. I was especially looking forward to the new "Talking Pictures" showing old movies. Will this situation ever change for this area ? It seems we have slipped behind in the digital age.

Tracy Jackson-Brown: Hi Tracy. There are no faults or engineering works at the Bromsgrove transmitter today. As regards your tv licence, it is not just for watching the BBC. It is necessary to have a tv licence to view any LIVE tv programmes and this also includes if you record a live programme and then watch it later. I hope this clarifies things for you. Richard, Norwich.

All viewers: If any BBC channels were lost on 1st June 2016 to viewers using The Wrekin, Bromsgrove or Lark Stoke transmitters it will be necessary to carry out a retune to restore the service if these channels are still missing. This is because the PSB1 multiplex was reconfigured at that time to facilitate carriage of BBC Radio Shropshire.
