Using the non offset frequency of 546 MHz does NOT work so please provide accurate data!

And to repeat for the third time, the transmission mode is QPSK not QSPK.

Bay TV Liverpool launches at 17:30h UTC today, Thursday December 4th, on Freeview EPG LCN 8, with a 60 minutes opening special, and then the regular evening report of 30 minutes of news, business and sport.

The station is transmitted from Storeton on UHF Channel 30 and from Winter Hill on UHF Channel 56.

The start date of June 30th given above and on the Winter Hill page is incorrect, and repeated comments to get the start date, the transmission mode typographical error, and the frequency corrected have been ignored.

Clearly the provision of accurate information on this site is not a priority.

I have excellent reception on my Panasonic TV from most channels. BBC1, ITV, and the HD versions all show 100% signal strength and 95% to 100% signal quality. However, Drama on channel 20 band 23 shows 100% signal strength but only 30% quality and lots of errors and is often unwatchable. The signal strength meter on my Sagen PVR shows similar results..
Any suggestions?
Thank you.

Hello
I want to watch channel 81 - Talking Pictures. I get my TV reception from Storeton. Why can't I receive Channel 81? I pay the same as those who get their signal from Winter Hill so why do I not receive the same level of service? Who is going to do what and when to provide this channel to those who have to use Storeton?

My Dad lives on the Wirral (CH43 2LB) and has always got his TV from the Storeton Transmitter. After recently getting a new TV and YouView box he has suffered from poor signal on some channels (Quest and Drama). When investigating the channel numbers I discovered that he was getting some channels from Storeton, some from Winter Hill and some from Moel-y-Parc. In some cases BBC1 and 2 HD a better signal from Moel-y-Parc. Does anyone else have similar problems or can anyone suggest if an aerial upgrade would improve things?

Paul Shepherd asked"I get my TV reception from Storeton. Why can't I receive Channel 81?"Because Multiplex COM 7 is not broadcast from Storeton. If you cannot receive a signal from Moel-y-Parc or Winter Hill for COM 7, then you should consider a satellite dish and receiver. ($ky is not needed, just a generic free-to-air satellite receiver or if you prefer to have your satellite services filtered according to the ability of the service to pay Freesat an extortionate fee and EPG numbers dorced upon you, then a Freesat receiver). The widest possible range of free-to-air/non-encrypted TV and radio services (including all FTA transmission to the UKofGB&NI) will be available to you with a generic FTA receiver and a motorised dish." I pay the same as those who get their signal from Winter Hill"
So what? If you are referring to your live TV reception licence, that does not guarantee reception of any TV service. COM7 (hint is in the name) is a commercial service multiplex and commercial multiplexes are only provided where the commercial operators consider the provision of the service to be commercially viable and where a frequency is available which will not interfere with broadcasts from other transmitters.

D Whittaker: "can anyone suggest if an aerial upgrade would improve things? The transmissions of the North West multiplexes from Storeton are VERTICAL polarisation (the WALES PSB1,PSB2,PSB3 highlt directional towards Clwyd are actaully horizontal) whereas those from Moel-y-Parc and Winter Hill are HORIZONTAL. Therefore your father in Prenton will have a southward directed vertically aligned antenna pointing towards Storeton. It is therefore only due to the high signal levels from Moel-y-Parc and Winter Hill that he is receiving any multiplexes from the off-beam wrong polariztion. So to improve your reception of mutliplexes (COM 7 and 8) not broadcast from Storeton and to maximize channel choice, the best arrangement is to keep the current antenna pointing at Storeton and install an additional horizonally aligned antenna pointing to Moel-y-Parc.Again to receive all available FTA UK radio and TV services and those from other nations, a motorized dish and an FTA satellite receiver is the solution. Last time I checked the only (non-shopping) services on terrestrial which were not FTA on satellite were AlJazeera English HD., Channel 4 +1 HD, Channel 4seven HD, 4Music, Dave, Dave ja vu, Home, Quest, Quest+1, and Your TV +1.
