A g BELL: Hi, AG. Your transmitter at Bilsdale West Moor has been having engineering work done upon it during the past week and so this probably explains your weak signals, Richard, Norwich. Incidentally, BBC One HD does not carry 'Look Anything'. At the times when regional news programmes are broadcast on BBC One SD, BBC One HD displays a caption advising you to re-tune to BBC One SD for your local programme. Hope this helps, Richard, Norwich.

Melanie Collins : Hi, Melanie. The Bilsdale West Moor television transmitter does not have any reported problems and so it would seem that you must have a problem with your tv reception installation. Check with your neighbours to ascertain whether they are having any 'Freeview' signal problems before checking your own equipment. Richard, Norwich.

I have a high gain rooftop aerial and generally have no problems with free view. I now find that I have lost ITV3. Retune has not helped.

Can you help?

I am trying to set up a tv from my caravan at Carlton Miniett near Thirsk and on tuning, due to being a multi direction aerial, it picks up broadcasts from North East and Yorkshire. North east is Newcastle and Middlesbrough and Yorkshire is Leeds and York. Having tried to find the best signal seem to have tried them all and still breaking up despite booster. Could you tell me which would be the strongest signal to tune in to from these 4 options ???

To do that we need a full post code for the location where you are trying to receive TV services.

Just a historical correction and possibly of only academic interest but I don't think YTV ever operated from Bilsdale although I think that was what was planned by the ITA 1970 handbook but by the time it was equipped, the plan was changed I believe and Tyne-Tees was given it. At no time did it belong to Granada/ABC though.

Hi, seem to be having issues with the Com 7 mux in Teesside for the past couple of days. All the channels on this mux keep breaking up or showing 'No Signal'. Yesterday I lost the whole mux for a while and this issue seems to the same on other televisions in the house, which receive their signal from independent aerials. Any reports to why this could be happening?

Bilsdale recently changed channels around .I do not have a channel list but it is likely that com 7 has moved to uhf channel 55 in keeping with the national plan to move com7 and com 8 on all uk transmitters (that carry com7 and 8 ) to 55 and 56. This means that a wideband aerial is needed . In most areas a log type is best or in moderately weak areas a group K .
note Pre digital aerials are group A which are very insensitive to channels above 30 or so.
note also I am reffering to UHF frequency channels NOT freeview channel numbers.
