Recurring problem with high BER from Caradon, affecting most channels. I have checked signal strength (53dB at the antenna downlead), and found bursts of high BER on the antenna signal. Any thoughts?

Hi
I am only receiving channel 25 and 28 from the caradon hill transmitter. Are there any problems or works going on?

Mike: There are no faults or engineering work showing for Caradon Hill. Have you checked for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV? Do not attempt to retune as this will delete all of your channels before searching for them again, which makes it much more difficult to know when the problem is fixed. Please provide a full postcode so we can see where you are in relation to the transmitter and your predicted signal strength etc.

I live at Pl26 6DJ and until mid November could easily receive all Caradon hill transmitter channels. Since mid November I have lost all of Channel 21 and have today installed a new wideband weak signal Labgear aerial which has made no difference. I note from this forum others are having similar issues with channel 21, so ask how long this problem will be in place before being resolved.

John: Two thoughts - are you actually tuned to Caradon, since the prediction tools say you should only get St. Austell.
Secondly, if your losing a mux, there is a problem with your system. Putting a new aerial on a system with a likely fault doesn't change that.
