Mike P
they are indeed, but if you get time to explain how extra reflectors on the log periodic are beneficial, at your leisure, it would be appreciated.

It seems to me that freeview is a rather naff setup. I am technically in the Aldeburgh transmitter area, but want more channels. I had a group B aerial which was fine for Sudbury on analogue, including the weak signal then from C5.

This was no use when freeview came along. After much experimenting I built the present aerial. It got me all the muxes, including the worst one on channel 60. I get 90% plus on all muxes, strength and quality. But regularly several get knocked out, though the ones on ch 41 and 44 are the last to disappear. When any/all disappear, the aforementioned figures go down to zero. It seems that anything it does not like, rain, fog, hot sun, Dutchmen, knock it out at the drop of a hat! There are no half measures, it is all or nothing.

Can somebody help, please?

Since the bad weather I have been unable to receive the independnt channels (C4/ITV/C5/etc)

I have retuned, checked the aerial, in fact, done all I can but, nothing but pixelation!

Steve: The weather might have caused water to get into the system, etc. Check all connections and cables , and if your signal is still too low (check it), then you might have to call out a professional.

My postcode is Co100rj. I regularly get channel drop-outs - usually on ch 37 etc. On Sunday 18th March ch 18,19,22,25,31,35,39,42 and 47 were unwatchable. The next day all worked fine. Often l find that it is a group of commercial or bbc channels that have trouble- multiplex? I have also experienced intermittentnoise? I wondered if a transmitter was nearby?
Any comments?

Rupert Allen : You're just 6km from the Sudbury transmitter and should be getting a strong signal, possibly too strong which can overload the tuner. Search for the article titled "Too much of a good thing" on this website and try an attenuator.

the channel chart is wrong, it shows multiplexes on channels 29 and 31 They are not in use. It needs to be corrected. If they are moving, when? I do not want to keep buying new aerials.

nick horrex: According to Digital UK, the only retune still due to take place at Sudbury will happen on 1st August. I'm not sure why you would need to keep buying new aerials, official advice has been to fit a wideband type for around 20 years now.

thanks Steve. If you look at the chart, it says they will be using channels 31 and 35, allegedly as from last March
I am on the fringe. To get the muxes on channels 58 and 60 I had to have an aerial specifically designed for that end of the band. Now they seem to be moving to the opposite end.
