Freeview muxes com7 and com8 are not working/providing low signal from around 10:30 today. All programs on tose muxes are NOT available, all other muxes working OK.
Information here shows no fault on the transmitter. How can it be? The above reports are carried out from the same reception system. So, that would seem to eliminate a local aerial problem. (Tests repeated with with 2 separate TVs.)
Location Cheltenham.

STUART: There are no faults showing for the Ridge Hill transmitter and you are predicted to have a strong signal at your postcode. Have you checked for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV? Do not attempt to retune.

Over the years, there have been many, many complaints in these website pages, and elsewhere including to MPs, from people in North Gloucestershire who have to suffer BBC Midlands Today, and cannot get BBC Points West.
The usual response is to get Freesat (or Virgin Cable, if you live in Cheltenham or Gloucester) both of which will give you BBC Points West as your default BBC region....but at a cost.
There is another solution, which is to use the BBC Iplayer, and go to "settings" to select BBC West. I have a NowTV stick in my backup TV in our kitchen/diner, through which I access BBC West via the IPlayer.
My NowTV stick cost 14...much cheaper than an aerial or satellite being put up, and also less than a cable instillation.

Chrissie cruickshank : There are no faults showing with the Ridge Hill transmitter, if it has been off air for 2 days there would be thousands of complaints. Have you checked for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV? Do not attempt to retune.

I'm in Cheltenham. GL52 3xx During the week, at 18.30, after the BBC News on BBC 1 HD, I get the red screen of rubbish. When will I finally get BBC West seamlessly so I can watch Points West without having to switch to my satellite for it? Thanks.

Andrew: There are no regional versions of BBC 1 HD in England due to the huge cost of upgrading the studios, the links to the transmitters and the large amount of additional satellite capacity required. This is unlikely to change until plans are announced for BBC 1 to go HD only and close the SD versions.
