Mrs s smith:
It could have been the recent weather , there's been a very brief period of "Tropospheric Ducting" causing interference affecting some in the south of the country.
If you had been correctly tuned, I hope you haven't been retuning, You cannot tune to signals that aren't there or can't be decoded, the usual effect is to clear the correct tuning or maybe get incorrectly tuned to weak signals from another transmitter. You then might have to try retuning several times to get your signals back to normal!
We can't check your predicted reception without a full postcode, if you continue to have problems, post back with a full postcode and some information about your aerial installation and which way it points (rough compass bearing) etc.

Did you bother to read the previous reply?
You haven't told us whether you tried to retune at the time!
In fact you've given us no additional information at all!
Have you even looked at your aerial to make sure it's still on the roof and pointing the same way as your neighbours?

Good afternoon, my mother in law runs 2 digital TV's (both Samsung). Yesterday the 20th May 2025 she has lost channels 21, 82, 17, 50, 32,33,64,61 etc. mostly her favourite channels. Oddly they have only been lost on 1 or the two TV's. They run on the same antenna via a splitter.
I have tried re-tuning both sets, powered both off for 10 minutes, powered off the splitter and changed the antenna plugs over. All to no avail.
Has the signal strength been lowered or has the mother in law worn them out?

Jon Miell:
I don't think there's any question of them being worn out!
But have you checked that the aerial looks intact and appears to be still pointing correctly and that the downlead isn't flapping around in the wind?
The assumption is that your mother-in-law does get her signals from Dover as you've posted on the Dover transmitter page, however as you haven't provided her full postcode, we can't confirm if that's the best transmitter for her postcode or indeed what the predicted reception is like.
I can't find any faults listed for Dover and it's not listed for Planned Engineering but finding reported faults for the commercial multiplexes is often like getting blood from a stone as most of the channels you've listed are carried on the SDN multiplex, a couple on ArqA orArqB, all commercial multiplexes!
There has been some periodic variable weather related disruption to reception across different parts of the country at different times which might have been the cause of the loss, but I'm afraid Retuning is not something you should do when you have No signal. You cannot tune to signals that aren't there or can't be decoded and the usual result is to clear the correct tuning. The BBC initially issued a warning about this possible disruption a week ago
https://www.bbc.co.uk/reception/work-warning/weather-warning/waw-high-pressure-19-may-2025
If you provide a full postcode we can also check for the possibility of a new source of interference from a new/upgraded phone mast now using the 700MHz band. Has she received a postcard from Restore TV?
