We have a caravan on the anchorage sewerby,Bridlington. We have retuned the tv several times and still no signal. Occasionally the tv works. All other caravans on site are having the same problem. It's very annoying. Not had a problem previous two years, now unwatchable.please advise. Kind regards John.postcode is yo166yg

John morritt: Although you're 87km away, your postcode is predicted to have good reception from Belmont. Have you checked for any loose or damaged cables and connections behind your TV and at the aerial (if you can safely access it)? Retuning will never fix a signal problem if the TV was already correctly tuned.

In Watlington West Norfolk PE33 postcode, for the past week and still currently a problem are the BBC channels, BBC1, BBC2, BBC4, BBC News (231) which are at best showing breaking up of image and usually freezing completely for up to 30 seconds or worst case showing service unavailable on TV.
Understand this could be weather related but strange that only seems to affect BBC channels?
Any thoughts?

In Bridlington can you get a signal from Scarborough or Bilsdale? Sometimes secondary or even tertiary transmitters can be a better option.

We are in Hull and are linked to the Belmont transmitter. Everything was fine until about 6 weeks ago when at certain times of the day and night, our tv picture becomes pixelated or freezes on certain channels and on all T S in our house - all of which are at various ages of newness.
We have had numerous conversations with the bbc reception team and completed their webpage fault questionnaire and have undertaken all the advice given to no avail.
Have auto and manually retuned, reset factory settings etc. our neighbours do not have problems.
BBC are telling us that the problem appears to be "time specific impulse interference"
Am getting fed up of losing Programmes - it doesn't happen every day but when it does it's always the same times. There doesn't appear to be any transmitter problems reported.
Please help !!!

Please check all the aerial connection from the back of the TV up to the aerial. There could be corrosion/oxidation at the connections and removing the plugs from the sockets and then refitting them usually cures that problem. Also inspect for any damage to the cables or signs of water getting inside the cables.
As your neighbour is not suffering the problem it is highly unlikely to be timed interference - unless the problem occurs at regular times and you have electrical devices controlled by timers. In which case the source will be in your house, so needs to be investigated properly.

Aerials and connections all been checked by a friend who has an aerial business - no problems or damage found.
Most of our neighbours have dishes, we don't. One neighbour who doesn't have a dish but is in a house doesn't have problems (we live in a bungalow - and have done so for 30 years).
This morning no bbc, all other channels ok on all tv's then 1 hour later bbc ok but ytv gone off.
Been in touch with bbc again and awaiting response.

Elaine: If everything else has been checked, then interference is the most likely problem. Note the times the problems arise - and then think what could be operating at that time - a thermostat timer, etc.

Hi Elaine. Just a thought, but do you have any large trees in the sight of your aerial because this can cause problems with signal. I have this issue with my neighbours tree and I can't even have a freesat dish fitted.
