Hi all.

I've stumbled across this site while searching for info re my recent reception issues.

Postcode SR70HX. As with Bryan they began on 1st October 2015 up until which time I've been receiving a good steady signal with only very intermittent and minor artefacts appearing on screen.

And then on Oct 1st I lost every channel on all Multiplex's except the one containing BBC 1 HD etc..

Occasionally channels from other Multiplex's sputter back into life and then break up to a "No Signal" message.

New aerial on chimney with mast mounted signal booster and new good quality cable installed 5 months ago, and no problems until yesterday, which still continue tonight.

At a loss other than to ask the installer for his advice. He's the most professional and recommended installer in my local area of Seaham, and very knowledgeable, and I'm sure he'll help if he can, but the fact that I have a strong signal (just under 100%) on the working HD channels makes me feel it's nothing to do with the installation.

Thanks in advance for any advice,

Dennis

DennisD: If your signal strength is 100%, then that is a problem. Search for 'too much of a good thing' on this site. I suspect the booster might not be needed...

Just had notification to retune for channel 70 Horror and is now on 792 among radio stations but no mention of this on Freeview web site. Any ideas why?
This is on Bilsdale transmitter

Alan Betteney: Have you retuned as yet? as the horror channel was initially broadcast on Bilsdales COM6 / Mux C40, but has now moved to COM4 / MuxC43 as used by ITV3 (10) / Vintage TV (242) and a host of others, LCN 792 now being an invalid channel.

The fact of the on-screen message is the up to date info.

jb38: Many thanks. Horror is still on Ch 70. When I did retune, Horror programme was showing on Ch 792 and I thought that it had moved, but now Ch792 shows the retune message.
It is all very confusing for an old man.

Alan Betteney: I feel that my statement of "moved" has possibly misled you, for which I apologise for not making it clearer, as I was really referring to the multiplex transmitter that the programme was previously broadcast on (COM6) having changed to COM4 /Mux C43, and not the programme guide number (EPG) that the programme is viewed on.

J metcalfe: If your transmitter is fine, it must be your system. You need to check it.

J metcalfe: If your Freeview reception is via the Bilsdale transmitter? then this station has been listed on the engineering page since Monday 4th under *Possible service interruptions*.

Needless to say, please refrain from being tempted to carry out a retune, as all this would achieve is to lose all channels stored in the tuner, frequent retunes then being required in order to recover same.
