RIPON. Re-tuned a few days ago and for the first time in a long time all channels appeared. Noticed that many of the minor channels signal strength poor with pixelation. This evening even the BBC channels pixelating. Tried a 're-tune but no change

R.Pratt:
Do NOT retune when you have pixellation or no signal if you were already correctly tuned. It can end up clearing your correct tuning.
IF, as at present, we have weather related interference due to "Tropospheric Ducting" you can end up tuned to interfering transmitters in Europe or the UK whose signals disappear as conditions change.
You then have to retune again when signals are normal which you may have to try more than once as you won't know when that may be.
Such interference can last for seconds, minutes or longer and won't necessarily affect all multiplexes. There's nothing you can do except wait for conditions to change.

I can't get a picture for any of the channels on 40 43 and 46 on one of my TV boxes despite them both being on the same aerial. If I move the box it works in the other location. I can see that the problem channels broadcast at half the power. Will my problem be more likely to be coax related (the coax is only a couple of years old) or do I need a better aerial. I've remade all of the connections and even tried a different aerial, but again just a cheap aerial.

Dave H: We need a full postcode to see your predicted signal strength. How long is the coax from the aerial to each TV/box? Are they connected to the aerial via a passive splitter or a powered amplifier?
If this has only been happening in the last few weeks since the new Bilsdale tower went into service then call the Project Restore Helpline on 0800 121 4828 - but don't wait too long as it has been announced that the helpline will be closing on 7th July.

StevensOnln1: The postcode is TS10 2DQ. The coax is about 5m to one TV and 9m to the other TV they are on a passive splitter. I lost the channels after a recent retune.
