Hi

If you were on the yesterday channel before you went into the guide though, then it would have populated it and all others on that MUX...at least that's what seems to be happening here.

I'll check again this weekend.

Mark Allison: I think that the Humax engineer was possibly mixing up Freeview with Freesat regarding the population of the EPG, as although the full EPG data is from one transponder on satellite its not so on a Freeview device, as each mux only sends EPG data for the programmes contained on that particular mux and not any others.

You can prove this by wiping out everything stored in the boxes memory by removing the aerial and carrying out an auto-tune, once completed check that nothing is seen in the EPG guide then go into the boxes manual tuning menu and enter "one" of the mux channels used by the station that covers your area followed by pressing scan or search, saving the results once the scan is completed if not automatically done.

Next go into the programme guide or EPG listings and check what EPG channels are being indicated, because no matter how long you wait you will only see the programmes being listed that are transmitted by that particular mux, obviously these being added to when manually scanning other muxes on the station.

Mark Allison: Re:- "once completed check that nothing is seen in the EPG guide then go into the boxes manual tuning menu" - this obviously after having reconnected the aerial again on completion of the auto-tune without it.(accidentally missed out)

Hi
Please help, I keep losing stations since the switch over, after i conduct a first time install. all stations are there but when turn tv off and back on i have lost stations such as Viva, film 4, itv4 etc. When doing first time install it picks up stations from south east, london and east anglia is this causing the problem.

Mark; Try doing a manual re-tune. If you're preferred transmitter is Bluebell Hill the channels you need to manually tune to are 46, 43, 45, 39 and 54, and if you have an HD box or TV then Channel 40 as well. Don't forget to save the stations found on each channel before moving on to the next channel.

My Mother is having the same problem on the same channels. Have retuned each channel but the same channels are still breaking up. She lives in SS4 post code area.

Dave; As the post code you gave is for southeast Essex, are you sure your mothers aerial is pointing to Bluebell Hill. If not, the problem is probably due to a weak signal and you need to find which transmitter the aerial is pointing to. Once you've established that you can find the transmitter on this web site (ukfreetv) and establish what channels are used and tune your mothers TV into those. For the aerial to aligned with Bluebell Hill from your post code it should be pointing roughly South West.

Cheers Ken. My Mothers Ariel was professionally installed to Blue Bell Hill in November last year. It is only in the last month or so that she has encountered problem of breaking up pictures on ArqB. She is also able to receive PSB channels on the back of the Ariel from Rouncefall about three miles to the North. I wonder if this could be the problem.

Dave. If your mother is only getting trouble on ArqB I doubt the problem is the Rouncefall transmitter as that only transmits PSB1, 2 and 3. On the other hand I have had trouble with ArqB. After the September 19th re-tune all at first appeared OK so I set my PVR up to record an early morning radio program, as I had before. When I came to listen to it there was nothing there so I went the station live and low and behold, nothing. So I tried one of the TV stations on ArqB and both sound and picture were breaking up. I decided that I'd do re-tune and see what happened, and it's been fine since. I don't know why that should be but it worked so I'm happy just to have an unanswered question rather than a problem.
