Virginia: Engineering work took place yesterday and is taking place between 9am and 6pm today (13th April 2011). If you retune when a transmitter is off the air it is often found that channels are deleted from the channel list. These can only be restored by retuning when the transmitter is back in service.

alan: There is engineering work again today. Try again at 6pm - if you have tried retuning you will have to retune again.
Digital UK's idea of notice is to post a notice about a day before they actually do it - in the bottom of a locked filing cabinet stuck in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying 'Beware of the Leopard'. Well, actually at http://www.digitaluk.co.uk/how_do_i_switch/your_aerial/engineering_works
This website has an automatic process that scrapes that page and posts a message from 'Transmitter Engineering'. It also checks the BBC's Reception page at Radio & Television Investigation Service - Diagnostic form
Digital UK's predictor reckons you should get a much better service from Sutton Coldfield, both now and after switchover.

ALL: They've been doing engineering works at Brierley Hill again today. I did look on
Digital UK - Planned Engineering Works earlier today and there was no notification. The automatic scraping of that webpage noticed a notification at 4:47pm.
You can deliver pieces of your mind to Digital UK - Home (see contact links in bottom-right corner) or Arqiva Press Office

Have two almost new digital T.V sets, built in Freeview, brand new aerial, located on roof. Perfect viewings till Tuesday 12th April around mid-day.I had lost channel 16, most of the 20's, with remainder poor quality. I contacted Digital.uk, who talked me through re-tune, TWICE, and after some 30 minutes I was advised to contact ITV. This I did, to be told that work was being carried out on the Brierley Hill Transmitter until approx 23rd April. I then contacted Panasonic who once again instructed me on re-tuning, unplugging, etc., some channels re-appeared, but after three attempts at re-tuning I was advised to contact Freeview, no luck there. Today, 14th April, 2-00pm I am still missing channels 16, 20, 23 and others which I assume will be referred to as multiplex. What is going on, and when can we expect the service we not only rely on, but pay for too. HELP !!!
