Hi I retuned for the Olympics and got BBC4 in HD from the Brierley Hill transmitter. I was encouraged to retune and lost it again. So it can work on the a BH transmitter, do you think they'll ever put BBC4 HD back?

Paul: BBC 4 HD received a temporary increase in coverage for the duration of the Olympics. It has now returned to it's normal broadcast capacity on the temporary COM7 multiplex, which is not transmitted from Brierley Hill. BBC 4 HD isn't likely to return until the BBC stops broadcasting in SD and make all their channels HD only, which is likely to be some time around the end of the decade (no firm date has been announced yet).

Does anyone know why I cannot get "Made In Birmingham", which was supposed to start broadcasting on channel 7 from the 10th Nov.

I have re-tuned my TV numerous times but no success, so does this mean I cannot get it from the Brierley Hill transmitter or has the channel not started yet?

Leslie Dyche: Made in Birmingham is a relaunch of the former Big Centre TV local channel. If you could receive that you will also be able to receive Made in Birmingham as there have been no technical changes to the channel.

StevensOnln1: I was able to receive Big Centre TV when it first started, but then it suddenly disappeared and I was unable to get it back. This may be why I cannot get the new channel Made In Birmingham as well. Do you know what information I would need to re-tune channel 7 manually, to see if it works that way?

Leslie Dyche: Go to the manual tuning screen on your TV and select C29 then wait a few seconds and you should see signal and quality levels appear. If signal and quality are good select the option to scan the frequency or add channels and it should add Made in Birmingham along with True Crime, True Christmas and Kix to your channel list.

StevensOnln1: Tried tuning manually following your instructions, but the signal quality is 0% and does not change. Not sure if the lack of signal is due to the weather, so I will try again tomorrow when it gets better.

The only question I would ask is when tuning manually should it be on 7mhz or 8mhz, as I can choose either?

Leslie Dyche: 8MHz is the correct setting for UK Freeview, 7MHz is used in some other countries. If you still have no signal when the weather improves, please provide a postcode so we can see where you are in relation to the transmitter.
