Mike Dimmick, if I wore a hat I'd take it off to you. I removed one of the two aerial boosters and the TV was now able to tune into channel 26, with no adverse effects on the PVR. Removing both boosters caused the PVR to complain of loss of signal, so I'll stick with one.

Great! Many thanks for the tip!

After the DSO, my PVR is failing to lock onto channels from PSB2 D3+4, Com5 ArqA and Com6 ArqB. It does find them when performing a full scan, it just does not lock onto them when changing channel.

The freeview decoder in my TV itself is able to pick them up without a problem.

I'm suspicious I have the same problem as this viewer, who had problems after the DSO at the Mendip transmitter.

Re: [mythtv-users] MtrhTv: Uk Mendip Transmitter issues

If I'm reading it correctly, his solution was to scan for the Transport Service ID's which his PVR had incorrect values for. Correcting the values fixed his problem.

I haven't been able to perform the scanning he describes, so does anyone know the Transport Service ID's for the Bromsgrove transmitter?

The values in my PVR are as follows:

Multiplex 1, Freq 490000000, Transport Id 16384 (PSB2 Not Working)
Multiplex 2, Freq 514000000, Transport Id 4165 (PSB1 Working)
Multiplex 3, Freq 538000000, Transport Id 8198
Multiplex 4, Freq 570000000, Transport Id 12290
Multiplex 5, Freq 578000000, Transport Id 20480

Thanks in advance for any help.

Mike,
thanks for the reply and the info.
Don't have a booster but will try and obtain a atenuator..any suggestion on what size? currently have 100% signal and 100% quality on all other channels.
I am puzzled though: why does ArqB need twice as much signal ? if the transmitter is transmitting all the channels at the same power wont they all arrive at my aerial at the same level and so also at the TV receiver/decoder ?

Re my question on the Transport Service ID's for the Bromsgrove Transmitter.

The transport id's in my PVR were incorrect. It seems since the switch over my Hauppauge Nova-T 500 Freeview card isn't detecting them properly.

It is detecting values:

Multiplex 1, Freq 490000000, Transport Id 16384
Multiplex 2, Freq 514000000, Transport Id 4165
Multiplex 3, Freq 538000000, Transport Id 8198
Multiplex 4, Freq 570000000, Transport Id 12290
Multiplex 5, Freq 578000000, Transport Id 20480

But the values should be:

Multiplex 1, Freq 490000000, Transport Id 8198 <- was 16384
Multiplex 2, Freq 514000000, Transport Id 4165
Multiplex 3, Freq 538000000, Transport Id 20544 <- was 8198
Multiplex 4, Freq 570000000, Transport Id 12290
Multiplex 5, Freq 578000000, Transport Id 24640 <- was 20480

I manually adjusted these settings and everything is now working.

Maybe this is an issue with the Nova-T 500, but as it's a popular
card, I thought I'd report the correct values.

Malcolm Landon: This is why you are always advised to completely delete any saved setting and do a "first time installation" at a switchover event.

Briantist : Those incorrect settings are detected after completely deleting all previous settings - the error definitely isn't caused by old settings. Performing a rescan now, inserts the bad settings again. The only fix appears to be manually adjusting them.
