Paul Madden:

A Retune event for Carmel was scheduled for today 17 July.

A retune of your receiver may be required to restore service.

Alan Landry, Paul Madden & Ry: Frequency changes have taken place at Carmel today, resulting in many viewers now needing wideband aerials for reception of all multiplexes. If retuning does not restore your channels, you should contact the Freeview Advice Line (see link below) who can arrange for a replacement wideband aerial to be fitted, free of charge if you don't have satellite or cable.

Hi,
I maintain a linux DVB media server in our large school, previously before the engineering work on the 17th July it received all channels without any bother at all and all having a strong signal

Since the engineering work I have managed to get all the muxs working except channel 48 (690Mhz)

it's completely dead here, this has been confirmed by an elderly neighbour who lives nearby the school, who asked me to retune his 3 tv's, all of his (modern) TV's cannot get channel 48 (690Mhz) even after a full hard reset

COM6
ArqB H -3dB C48 (690.0MHz) 411m DTG-8

We have the highest antenna around here it's on top of a 3 storey secondary school unfettered line of sight to Carmel Transmitter and about 3 times higher than an average house, but it's totally dead on 690Mhz, it's also a wide band antenna set for horizontal polarisation

it goes down to a very expensive distribution amplifier and a Johansson 6600 profiler, the clusters have been set
to allow through the appropriate muxes

I've even done a low level scan of the entire frequency range from uhf 21 to the top

it's definitely dead as dodo on 690mhz

I was thinking it was a hardware problem with our media server, but once I noticed modern TV's in a nearby estate wouldn't tune 690Mhz either is it conceivable they've messed something up ?

any ideas ?

Alan Landry: & others:

It's possible COM6 is still off air - there was a suggestion earlier (around mid-day) that the whole transmitter was still off-air at that time.

If you have had no joy by the morning, I suggest you ring the Freeview Advice Line free on 0808 100 0288 and ask them what is going on at Carmel. If they don't know ask them to find out from Arqiva! If they still give BS ask to speak to a manager.

Derek Brabrook:

We can only offer suggestions if you give a full poist code so that we can examine the expected reception at your location and also determine which of the over 1100 transmitters covers that area.

Derek Brabrook:

I take it that COM6 is back on air now. I had meant to address my previous post here to you, apologies.

MikeP:
I think you misread his post. He's using Carmel & has line of sight.
