Barbara Searle:
A signal strength of only 46% is rather low, ideally you want 60% or a bit more - but not more than aboput 85%. If you would give your full post code we could look up the expected reception at your location. You could also check that your aerial cables and the plugs/sockets are in good condition. You should also unplug each coaxial plug/socket and then refit it.

Richard Allen: I've found out that the landlords upgraded our aerial to make it "future proof", so wont have access to these frequencies until the next channel shuffle. That answers why I cant see Forces TV at least, but no help to you I guess, sorry.

When they 'opgraded' the aerial, did they have a wideband aerial fitted? If not, why not. The 'old' Group A aerials are of little use for Crysrtal Palace now as it uses channels 55 and 56 for the COM7 and COM8 services.

Hi, how is it possible to receive now 90s and 80s on freeview and HD.? My tv does not seem to pick up channel 56 and 55 all it picks up is 22 23 25 26 28 35. Please provide a full post code so that we can look up what the reception is expected to be at your location. Note that not all transmitters broadcast all the channels.

Recently the rooftop aerial on my block of 10 flats blew down in a storm. It was put back up but now I can't receive most of the Multiplexes on my bedroom TV. The one in the lounge works OK and the other residents don't have any issues with their TVs. The landlord wants 85 + VAT to look at my TV!
Postcode is DA146BG.
I now only get ARQA and SDN.
I believe that the aerial needs realigning - what do you all think?
If so, how do I convince the landlord of this?

Andrew Cook: If all other TVs are fine then it's unlikely that the aerial is out of alignment. It sounds more like there is a problem with the cabling to your bedroom TV. You can check by taking the bedroom TV and connecting it with the same socket and cables that are working in the lounge. If it works in the lounge, try replacing the cable from the socket to the TV in the bedroom. If the bedroom TV works from the socket in the lounge then it's pretty clear that there is a cabling fault somewhere.
