I have the same problem as RichT, all channels on multiplex 2 (UHF 22 Crystal Palace) disappeared a few weeks ago. The reception became progressively worse, I managed to get them back by rescanning for all channels, but they are gone for good for last ten days. Rescanning for channels doesn't even register them anymore, even when I do re-scan after disconnecting my video recorder that might be causing interference. I had the same problem last year, but never for so long and persistent. I noticed that analogue signal deteriorated at that time. I am using an old Phillips box that has worked fine all these years.

Samir: If your analogue reception has also deteriorated, that would imply a general reduction in signal levels or increase in interference or noise. Start by checking that the aerial is intact and still pointing in the correct direction. Look for any new obstructions in the path, for example cranes or new buildings, or trees coming into leaf.

Cable damage is another cause of reception problems. In wet weather, damaged outer insulation can allow water to get into the cable, which changes its properties increasing the amount of signal lost in the cable. The place where the cable connects to the aerial should be waterproofed but that can also leak and allow water into the cable.

If the cable can freely move over tiles or walls, the outer insulation may wear through and allow the screening to be damaged. It should be securely anchored as it passes over tiles and brickwork. The insulation is also affected by UV light from the sun and does have a limited lifespan.

Hi thought I'd post an update

Today a colleague living in Amersham Bucks who had never had any Freeview problems reports he is unable to use freeview for anything other than BBC parliment during the last week.

This falls in line with issues I know about my self at postcode SL2 2NN and my brother living 1 mile north):

Over the weekend 11 - 12 June my brother (1 mile north), had terrible reception on BBC channels. Where I, in the proceeding week had issues with all freeview having very poor reception. But by Sunday he couldn't watch BBC at all and came to my house to watch F1 where my freeview reception of BBC was perfect?

But I keep loosing ITV but he now says this work OK for him and BBC is a bigger issue. I still have no HD channels (signal went down to unviewable levels more than 1 month ago) Had been prefect for 3 month prior to this.

Commencing 6 June all freeview channels were poor and remain flaky.

Friday 6 May BBC 1 and 2 came back up... other ones still dead but came back later that day according to my brother I noticed ITV Ch 4 and 5 just about working but breaking up a bit over the weekend. My brother at his address (1 mile north) reporting he had seen the exact issues with similar timings during that timeframe.

But in bringing these back up, they killed all HD channels which had been faultless for 2 months, now breaking up really badly all the time.

Retuned the panasonic middle of last week after having the nag onscreen for about a week and get a great range of 10 out of 10 to 1 out of 10 on different muxes....

Brilliantly with BBC 1 and 2, ITV, ch4 ,ch5 being some of the weakest BUT its ok coz the porn and gambling rubbish no one watches come out at 10 out of 10 for signal strength and have NEVER gone off air in more than 5 years even with the silly playing the do all day long at crystal palace but pretend they don't

I get my Freeview signal from Crystal Palace and have lost all channels for: all ITV, all Channel 4 (including E4, More 4) and all the Channel 5 (5, USA, 5*). Got worse suddenly around 9pm on Monday 13th June and now on Friday I only have BBC left. Done a reset as described, others in the area are having similar problems since Monday so it's not my equipment. Either someone has blocking / degrading the signal or something is wrong with Crystal Palace transmitter - even your website says the transmission details is low for the channels I've lost.
