Richard caywood:

Thanks for confirming that. I'd got that (in round figures) from the Freeview Detailed Coverage Checker. However, if you have a Group A aerial, whilst it will be more sensitive on the low channels, it will struggle with COMs 4-6 which, from Bilsdale, they are already weak for some spots in your postcode, and you won't get COMs 7&8. The odd thing is that Freeview predict quite good reception from Emley Moor (with a Group T/Wideband aerial) except some spots will struggle with COMs 7&8. But if you particularly want the Tyne Tees region instead of Yorkshire, you have to go for Bilsdale.

Leaving that aside for now, can you try the Bedroom TV right next to the Booster using a short Flylead from the booster to the TV - if you haven't got one, can you borrow one, and see what the Strength and Quality % are ?

Do you normally get LCNs (channels) 11, 12, 13, 25, 29 for example?
Can you confirm the Group of aerial that you have?

In regards too what channels I receive I get all except for PSB 3 bbcb. Basically no hd channels and coms8
From my reception.. this is because I am in a dip and my aerial cannot be guaranteed in picking up reception in a sw direction , this is due to high homes and surrounding trees etc. of emely moor transmitter

I'd deduced it was an awkward location! So if you could just try the bedroom TV next to the booster with a short Flylead.

Ok, that does seem to suggest no mysterious problems with the normal coax. Try connecting everything back as normal except this time, put your 6dB attenuator in circuit with the bedroom TV only and see what you are getting for signal % and quality % on the bedroom TV.

Richard caywood:

Now, this is interesting! As you say you have used a 4G Filter (it's a filter not an attenuator, but any device like this will cause some attenuation - insertion loss - as well as the specific filtering effect) we can't yet deduce whether the problem is "overload - too much signal" or Interference from 4G. The set downstairs isn't so badly affected because of the longer length of coax which will have some attenuation. Does this 4G filter have Ch.60 or Ch.59 marked on it at all?

Back in a post on Tuesday 14 May 2013 1:25PM you said "i have an attenuator 6db". Do you still have this 6dB attenuator?

Can you try the following and report the figures.
1) If you have the 6dB Attenuator, put it in place of the 4G Filter on the Bedroom TV and tell us the Signal % & Quality % for the Bedroom TV. Then remove it and connected the bedroom TV as normal.

2) Put the 4G Filter between the aerial and the Booster and tell us the Signal % & Quality % for both sets.

3) Remove the 4G Filter and put the 6dB attenuator between the aerial and the Booster and tell us the Signal % & Quality % for both sets.

If you don't have the 6dB Attenuator, then just do 2) with the 4G Filter.

the 4g filter is (at800 404401 LTE consumer channel 59)
the attenuater i still have it. I have tried it downstairs and connected it straight into the tv coax and the signal has not changed.... (signal 100 quality 97) some channels are signal 100 quality 85..
Upstairs via the tv (signal 35 quality 0) picture is pixelated.
4g filter via the booster input aerial in to which is then connected to both upstairs and downstairs signal upstairs as (signal 15 quality 0) (downstairs signal 100 quality 95)
when i place the 4g filter between the aerial as in tv1 (downstairs) there is no change signal and quality as above... i then placed the 4g filter in tv2 aerial to (upstairs) signal 35 quality 0
you then asked for me to put the 4g filter and the 6db attenuater together into the aerial input so that there should be some kind of a signal diffrence
well downstairs the signal is 100 quality 95.......... upstairs the signal is 35 quality 0

hope this helps
