We have a problem on C41+ in that the programmes break up making the picture unwatchable. We had this before the changeover and I hoped that the change and increased power would solve it.

The signal strength shows as 27% and quality 100% whereas BBC (C45) has strength 31% and Quality 100%

Any ideas what we can do to improve the position

I have retuned my set, but it will not pick up any of the ITV channels without further retuning. All BBC channels are OK. I have contacted the TV supplier and they tell me that works are still underway at Hannington and that there is no fault on the tv itself. Could you advise what I should do, please?
I have a roof mounted aerial.

Dont know if Digital uk read this but a friend has problem tuning her tv BBC Channels Fine No ITV etc on Meridean local tv for news ,
Gave postcode they told her No ITV Till april 4 which makes that crystal palace so she would not have lost all analogue channels last night . they need to ask what your local channel is hers is same as mine BBC South Meridean news not BBC London ITV london . Still waiting to hear from her again but should be ok EVERSLY near FLEET

Film 4 and Yesterday are now only intermittently available here in Winchester and I see that the broadcast power for COM5 and COM6 is currently "very low". Will it ever move up into the "low" category, or possibly higher, so I can resume watching these channels as I have since Freeview started. I have a good rooftop aerial and a signal amplifier for connection to my TV which is driven by a PC with a Hauppage TV card.

Richard Gibson: Remove the signal booster, your receiver could be desensitised by the higher power signals.

I haven't seen anything to say that COM5 and COM6 are on lower power than what they were on before. Thus, that is why I would suggest that problem is caused by the higher power digital services.

The "desensitising" is a bit like your eyes being desensitised to poor light outside at night with the light in the room turned on.

Amplification could be unnecessary. See here:

tony: Is the probalem that the wrong ITV region is being picked up? If ITV London is being picked up, then I assume that this is coming from Crystal Palace.

The most generic answer is to run the automatic tuning scan with the aerial unplugged for the first 25% so as to miss out the frequencies used by CP.

HI What have done is tell her to ask a neighbour to see what they get and to check what direction there Aerial is pointing .
Our postcode gives Crystal Palace as well but we cannot receive it at all most Aerials here point at Hannington .now wating till this eve when she is Home.
