HD was ok yesterday, as was SD. Brief engineering outages are being listed on this page, presumably there is ongoing work at HX,
but I have not noted any longer outages.

Because of the position of my house I seem to get my signal from Huntshaw Cross transmitter.I can get some channels from Broadlands relay but more channels from Huntshaw Cross. The problem is every night just before 10pm the signal on the itv channels disappear.Should I bite the bullet and get an aerial on the roof and get my signal from Beacon Hill or is there anything else I could do.
Many Thanks D.A.Gibbs

Dennis Gibbs: Before taking any action as far as your aerial is concerned, as soon as the ITV signal vanishes immediately go into your TV or boxes signal checking screen and have a look to see if the signal is still there or not, as in most cases it will be but is sitting at a level that's just under the reception threshold of you equipment and not strong enough to produce a picture, so make a note of the indication and compare this to when everything seems to be OK.

Further advice given depending on whatever the results are indicated as being, as a signal booster could possibly cure the problem.

John : To receive the COM muxes you need to be able to receive signals from a main station. In North Devon these are Huntshaw Cross, and in a few favourably placed locations on high ground Caradon Hill. Using Landkey post office as a reference good reception is predicted from Huntshaw Cross at 217 degrees (aprox SW ), the aerial being mounted for horizontal polarisation. If your aerial is pointing to a relay at Barnstaple (NW) or Swimbridge (ESE) with the rods set vertical, you will only be able to receive the PSB muxes.

Huntshaw Cross area (EX39). Ongoing problems (over a week now) with all channels, but especially BBC. Neighbours are having the same issues so it isn't my aerial or box - is there work going on and if so, any end in sight please? This is particularly pants over Christmas! Thanks

Will the procedure you will carry out in May 2013 have any detrimental effect to my reception.
In other words will I receive a picture and sound as of the quality I receive today .
