Mendip Transmitter

Maximising the benefits of 700MHz clearance - Ofcom

What will this mean? There will be less HD channels than we have now? That won't be good if that is the case!

Zahida: Contact the Freeview Advice Line who can arrange for a replacement wideband aerial to be fitted (free of charge if you don't have satellite or cable). See link below.

AntD: COM7 & COM8 are temporary multiplexes and were always planned to close within the next few years.

Update: Residents are not getting BBC 1 Channel SD i.e Pointe West. I am hearing that the residents in my block of flats are having same issues. We do have communal aerial. Any fixes possible.

The only channels I now receive are the BBC ones despite retuning several times. Aerial is on the roof of the house

Gary Law: If multiple residents are having the same problem you need to get in touch with whoever is responsible for the communal aerial system and get them to send someone out to investigate.

Jackie Webb: As per my post earlier this evening, give the Freeview Advice Line a call (see link below). They can arrange for a replacement wideband aerial to be fitted (free of charge if you don't have satellite or cable).

Jackie Webb:

Like others, you need a wideband aerial fitted in place of your current aerial which is no lobger suitable for full reception. You may qualify for a free replacement if you do not have a cable or satellite service. Please see Important changes to Freeview TV signals | Freeview for more information and arrange a visit.

To everyone using Mendip:

Please note that there will be further changes on the 19th June. the ARQ B group will move from channel 52 to channel 36. COM 7 group will move from channel 36 to channel 55, bringing it in line with many other 'main' transmitters.

If you already have a wideband aerial fitted that will not need to be changed, merely a retune of the affected channels. If you do not have a wideband aerial already then you need to have one fitted. You may qualify for a free replacement if you do not have satellite or cable TV, see Important changes to Freeview TV signals | Freeview

The channel numbers are OUT OF DATE.

C35HD and c36 don't exist.

Meanwhile I'm getting LOTS of HD channels on C29, which is coming from WHERE exactly?/

c22 supposed to be PICK, etc. but too weak a signal to catually show anything.

FREEVIEW IS IN TOTAL DISARRAY!

I live on the welsh side of the Bristol channel and use Mendip transmitter for my Freeview reception. I must manual tune to ensure I get the correct channels and not ones from wenvoe. Here are the Frequencies that are working for me at this time, they seem at odds with what is published above here. Hope this is of use to others struggling.
