We loose channels 10, 16, 20, 23, 27, 30, 31, 32, 36, 38 and occasionally 15 through poor bit rate and signal strength from the Mendip transmitter. I see from the info on this transmitter that A, C and COM6 are transmitting on VERY LOW. We live at Stroud, Glos, and have the correct high gain arial and good connectors. This also appears to happen in poor weather conditions. How can this fault be corrected so we get all channels, also who do we report/coplain about the situation to?

Roger: You don't report it to anyone. You will have to wait for the commercial multiplexes to come up to full power
As above "Mendip SDN and Arqiva A will temporarily operate on channels 62+ and 56+ respectively (both at 10kW ERP) until September 2011. Final DSO channels will then be adopted, though ERP levels will remain limited until early 2012. Arqiva B will operate on channel 59+ (10kW ERP) until January 2011, when it will move to channel 67 at 26kW ERP until September 2011. Arqiva B's final DSO channel will then be adopted, though ERP will remain limited until early 2012. "

Is this a first, an enquiry not a moan'!!!!
When undertaking an installation [Mendip transmitter] whilst I get the correct local bbc transmission on channel 1, on the bbc news channel 80 I always get the London local news, can this be corrected or will this always be the case??
Will the splendid service you provide continue once DSO has been fully implemented?
Thanks for all the information and good advice given todate!!!
Regards

WHY is ITV1+1 Mendip actually ITV1+1 Wales ?
Like many people I am curious why I get ITV1+1 Wales (distinguished by WALES local ITV news) on ITV1+1, but nobody seems to have answered WHY this is (see Untitled | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice somebody reply with the reason WHY ?
I've also noticed the Freeview on the Mendip transmitter' web page (https://ukfree.tv/shutdowndetail.php?tx=ST564488) implies it should be HTV West on 33 (PSB2; UHF Channel C54).
All my channels are from the Mendip Transmitter. I get standard HTV West on 3 and I'm sure I'm not the only one who receives ITV1+1 Wales on 33 from the Mendip Transmitter .

Bruce: the BBC News channel is UK-wide and has never had any regional component.

To save money ITV have only provided a limited number of ITV 1 +1 regions, so those in the West and WestCountry get the Wales region on the delay service.
Given the limited regional content on ITV 1, and thhe combination of West, WestCountry and Wales for advertising sales, as long as you see the right adverts I suspect ITV are OK with it.

Brian I live in Guernsey and have Toshiba 32wlt66 TV which worked fine and accessed the Digital services as soon as I plugged in the arial but after a couple of weeks it went down and I have no signal at all. I have checked my arial and all seems well. Any ideas

alan.
If you checked your aerial by connecting to another TV and it was OK I think your TV was faulty.

I live in Bridgwater and get a good signal from Mendip. Why, then, is ITV1+1 on UHF channel 54 the Welsh channel? It doesn't really matter but seems strange.
