The symbol shows the location of the Mendip (Somerset, England) transmitter which serves 720,000 homes. The bright green areas shown where the signal from this transmitter is strong, dark green areas are poorer signals. Those parts shown in yellow may have interference on the same frequency from other masts.

Are there any planned engineering works or unexpected transmitter faults on the Mendip (Somerset, England) mast?

Briantist: Thanks for the update Brian :)
Mike Dimmick: Thanks for the updated info, I don't seem to have much time thses days so haven't kept up with late changes :(

Jack Sukerman:
As you say you have 10/10 signal on all the other MUXes, and that you didn't get Film4 etc when Arq B was on C67 prior to Sept.28 then if it's not local interference as has already been suggested it's likely to be your Aerial or Coax (or both!) as Mike has already implied.
What also won't help is that Arq A is now in 8K mode (previously 2K), the same as Arq B was when on C67.
If you still have an Analogue TV or Video, try tuning into C67 to see if you can pickup any analogue signal, If so, this would be the source of your problem.
Also, very strong signals on one channel can also sometimes cause interference on other channels, typically C+/-1, C+5, C+9 if I recall correctly off the top of my head, where C is the channel number of the strong signal.
Eg. you could have a very strong signal on C66, C68, or C62 or C58 (but not the Mendip PSB3-HD mux, that won't be strong enough, but obviously if you have an HD setup and receive it ok, the interference won't be on that channel!). Best of luck investigating - get back if you need more help, or to let us know the outcome/cure.

C61,C54,C48,C52,C67 - this last one will move to C56 in March next year.
All are now 8K mode, so any old equipment that was only getting ArqA and SDN prior to Sept.28th will now get nothing.

HD mux is on C58.

Woops, forgot Cirencester also affected, which is probably where you are, as you are still getting BBC mux, only D3&4 mux was affected here.

JimBilly:
C67 should not really be a problem in itself unless you are in a more marginal reception area now that the Mux (Arq A) is in 8K mode.
Jack says he's getting 10/10 signal on the other muxes, so he probably isn't marginal.
It's possible that a lot of people who were previously getting Arq A in marginal areas will not now get it until the power restriction of 26Kw goes (and move to C56) which happens in March 2012. Why they couldn't have left it in 2K mode until then, I don't know! - (they probably want to shove in some more LCN's on the mux!).

Hi Brian, I think I've found a bug :)
The last bit of my post has disappeared - it's gone into where my location would be (location not previously or intended to be entered at this time).
The tail end of my post on Tuesday 27 September 2011 10:25PM also disappeared or should I say didn't appear initially, but then appeared later, at some point after a subsequent post. Hmmm.

Chris.SE: It's not a bug, there is a process that looks for posts that end with thing that end with something that looks like a postcode in brackets at the end, but isn't and fixes it. It runs periodically.

I've just retuned as instructed after 28th Sept and have 'no signal' on every single channel. This is the Tetbury area (GL8 8).

Has something screwed up? Can literally get no channels at all now.
