No TV for a couple of days now, live in Edenbridge but tv is linked to crystal Palace transmitter.
Internet says no problems but there surely is a big problem. Thought it was just mine, now just found out from a neighbor it's there as well.
Please can someone help.

Tracey Savage: Crystal Palace broadcasts TV to the whole of London and various areas beyond. If there was a problem with the transmitter it would be national news. Are you and your neighbour using a shared communal aerial system such as are often found in blocks of flats? If that is the case you need to ask whoever is responsible for managing your building to get the aerial system checked.

Tracey Savage: Hi, Tracey. In Edenbridge you are expected to receive a good signal from the Crystal Palace transmitter. Since there are no currently reported problems on the Crystal Palace transmitter, the tv reception installation in your home must have developed a fault. First of all, you need to check that the recent wind hasn't blown your aerial round so that it is no longer pointing towards Crystal Palace. Crystal Palace is North-North-West of Edenbridge, so that's the direction your aerial should be pointing in. Compare yours to neighbours' and you'll see what I mean. If the aerial needs re-pointing, you may prefer someone else to get up on to the roof or the chimney pot to do it for you - it's up to you. Once your aerial is pointing the right way, you need to check the condition of the aerial cable to make sure no water has seeped into it, for example. You also need to check all aerial lead connections: sometimes a piece of copper wire from an aerial lead can 'fray out' from where it's supposed to be bunched up, causing a short circuit which stops or hinders the signal from reaching your t.v. or set-top box. Check too that all aerial cabling is firmly connected to the aerial plug and/or socket connectors. Then disconnect your aerial lead from your tv or set-top box and carry out a 'first-time installation' Your tv or set-top box will display a message after a couple of minutes, saying, "no channels found". This is correct because the aerial was deliberately disconnected. This has given your tv or set-top box the opportunity to 'forget' its previous set-up and also 'forget' any corrupted data' that had been stored in it. Then re-connect your aerial lead and do another 'first-time' installation. This time, all receivable channels should be listed. Try all of this and you'll have all of your tv channels back again. Richard, Norwich.

How can you tell from the map whether a particular transmitter covers a town or not as the green and cyan overlays totally obscure the map underneath!

John: Interesting.

The maps have been designed to allow you to see both town/city/village names and the roads. Other details has been turned off. I've just visually checked the above map and I can see the places and roads quite well...

You might find the maps on the prediction page more useful as you can change the selected transmitter. https://ukfree.tv/prediction and use your postcode.

Has anything changed, with respect to transmission, in the last month or so
We used to get good reception for All channels, including Sky news, and 6 High definition channels

Nor, just in the last few weeks, our reception on all channels is erratic to say the least
And virtually non existent for channel 132 Sky news
And the HD channels have disappeared

I have tried a retune, on all TVs
The Aerial is in good condition, and pointing the same way
And it's on multiple TVs, so it's not an issue with the TV itself

Any ideas?

To offer any meaningful assistance we need to know exactly where you are in relation to possible transmitters. To do that we need you to give your full post code.

Why is it when ever there is high pressure and clear weather (like tonight), we on the south coast (Chichester, the Witterings) can't get the signal. Its so annoying!
