Mike B,
yes it's definitely Midhurst, tbh i've given up with getting my head round it,
thankfully my other aerial is on Crystal Palace and although it's a group A i can still get a good signal on most of the Muxes,i've lost ch 55 & 56 so no extended HD coverage but there's no way i'm forking out on another aerial until they've finished with all the changes.

I have had no trouble from Midhurst since DTV started (Burgess Hill). Now since March I cannot get
BBC1 BBC2 etc. I think CH48. I have to use BBC1 HD which has no local news

Why is Channel 29 used on Midhurst when it is outside the band of a C/D aerial?

Finally can the MUX/Channel allocation be updated on this publication

Michael:

All you need to do is have the aerial changed for a wideband type. That will receive all the current channels being transmitted plus all the foreseeable future ones as such an aerial cover *all* the possible range of channels.

MikeP,
i may have to go that route at some point,
i'm concerned that as i'm partially shielded by a hill and large trees a wideband wouldn't give me enough gain,
especially on the local mux @43kw

I phoned up the Freeview helpline and because they could not figure out why I was able to get channel 29 but 33 and try a couple of other things I got put through to the home support team who are sending out an engineer for free in the next week. Will see what can be found and see where it leads to.

Interestingly this morning I can now get channel 33 albeit only with signal quality between 24% to 35% and most of the time since doing a manual retune for channel 33 the picture only slightly breaks up every now and again which is not surprising.

Yesterday I retuned my Panasonic DMR-HWT130 to see if the Midhurst engineering work on 18 April had helped. There is no change. I still cannot record any of the channels from PSB3 (BBC B: most of the HD plus Film4+1).

A number of people have complained that their Panasonic device will not record. I understand that Panasonic are aware of this problem but have not issued any solution as yet.

Hi Pete,

I had the response below from Panasonic last Friday, 26th April. I'm going to ask for a fix timeline but don't expect to hear anything specific!

Regards, Peter

Panasonic Response:

"In response, please note that due to the complexity of this case, the situation is still being investigated . Please rest assured that as soon as we have a solution, we will contact you back. We appreciate your patience and understanding regarding this matter."

Peter Simpson:

If you have Panasonic's ear you might point them at a similar problem. In December last year a number of Panasonic owners reported that they could not record BBC4 HD. I do not know all of the transmitters were involved but they cannot have included Midhurst as we do not get COM 7 & 8. Fenham, Darvel and Fenton were cited. Bluebell Hill started having problems with BBC4 HD after its January retune..

Panasonic HDD Recorder DMR-HW100 - WILL NOT RECORD! | AVForums

The problem went away (I hesitate to say it was fixed) with a transmitter retune on 11th January.

Bluebell Hill started working late January, round about the 25th.
