David Hulme:

I cannot find any reports of any engineering work recently on the Midhurst transmitter. So I suggest you check all your aerial cables and connections. Unplug all the coaxial plugs/sockets and refit them, that will clear any oxidation from the contact surfaces which is known to cause problems such as you report. It could, of course, be local temporary interference.

All programs on C48 have a very weak signal and poor signal quality. Other channels received from Midhurst are fine. Aerial is mounted externally on a mast on the roof of the house

Steve and Charles:

It is likely to be due to the very hot weather we are currently experiencing. There is no cure as it is not a fault and DO NOT RETUNE.

There was a report of a transmitter fault prior to those posts with weak signal for the BBC mux UHF48 but that was the 25th and should now be cleared assuming the information is correct. Otherwise as Mike suggests it's very likely due to current weather conditions.

@ Mike P.

Signal is ok now. The problems started to happen a few days before the hot weather with other channels not affected.

Transmitter engineering: Intermittent HD signal/quality since 27th Sept 2019. Good quality and signal, then drops to zero for a few seconds then comes back on good signal

All fine until end of last week

Jason Rawlins:

Putting your postcode into About us | Freeview shows that you should normally get very good reception from Midhurst.

There is Planned Engineering at Midhurst this week with "Possible weak signal". I guess this is in preparation for the Retune event on the 16th Oct. when the PSB3/BBCB (HD) mux moves from C58 to C36, the PSB2/D3&4 (ITV/C4) mux moves from C54 to C35, and the COM5/ArqA mux moves from C59 to C34.

Hi I dont have a free view problem but a DAB problem. I live in petworth GU289NS and drive to chichester every day listening to BBC R2 on DAB normally it only cuts out in petworth town in 2 specific places other wise really good. But the last few days it has cut out more than on as if something has been moved or switched off. Dont really think its the car as has been ok.
