Alex W: On the Nottingham transmitter ALL the multiplexes are at the same power level, 400W.
If you have problems in the wind, your aerial is moving around and it most likley that there is a "dry joint" in the cable causing the signal to degrade. See Freeview reception has changed? | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice
You didn't provide a full postcode, so I can't say more.

Darren: You should be able to have excllent reception of all multiplex, as shown at the top of the page all services are output at the same level.
There is a graph on the Aerial group performance | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice page which may explain the levels you are receiving.
You would normally expect to use single-channel repeaters in a 30-flat distribution system with one amplification unit for each used channel.

I am in Leicester, LE5, with a digital aerial (6 years old) pointing to Waltham. But we now get Look North instead of Central - yet Waltham is classed as Central. So are we picking up Belmont - which is approximately in the same direction? Will Waltham have sufficient power to take over in the future. Or what do I do. Any suggestions welcome.

you need to do a full rescan without the aerial to clear the channel list then reconnect the aerial and manually retune the 5/6 multiplexes to stop belmont's bbc being stored first

Mick Lemon: Yes, this is as predicted. If you want all the multiplexes you will need to use the Waltham transmitter. Next year, the signals on SDN and ArqA will also deteriorate at your location for Nottingham.
