I am trying to tune in to Olivers mount from a loft aerial from YO11 3JZ near Scarborough.
I note the pro map says V for vertical. currently my loft aerial is horizontal pointing at Olivers mount and I can't get the full range of channel ie Talking picture sony channel etc. do I point it vertiacally in the loft?

Steve: All multiplexes are broadcast in vertical polarity from Olivers Mount, so your aerial should be mounted vertically (i.e. with the elements going up and down rather than side to side).

Clive Standring:
Olivers Mount is currently listed for Planned Engineering with the Possible Effect of "Screen may go black on all or certain channels".
So that is the most likely cause of what you've seen. Do NOT retune!

Chris G:
A Group K aerial will cover all the UHF channels that multiplexes on Olivers Mount currently use or may ever use in the future if there were to be any further planned changes (of which there is no mention).
That said, it depends on where you are - if you are in a location that currently has weak reception of the COM multiplexes and possibly BBCB HD, then you might be better with a Group A which just covers the UHF channels currently used and might give a little more gain BUT it depends on exactly which aerial you may buy, not all makes are the same!
We'd need a full postcode to look at your predicted reception to possibly give more informed advice.
Whichever aerial, it should be mounted with it's rods vertically for Olivers Mount.

Did you not read the post immediately before yours?
Without a full postcode we can't check your predicted reception or offer other advise.

Whilst you posted on the Freeview page, there's no additional information on the DAB page, and I can't currently find any listing of faults or engineering, however finding such information for commercial multiplexes is like trying to get blood from a stone!
I suspect that even if you provide a full postcode it might not be possible to give any definitive information.
GB News is on the D1 National multiplex Block 11D: 222.064MHz.
Are you having any reception problems with any other stations on that multiplex but especially LBC News which uses an identical transmission mode?
If you use your set's Menu/Info, is the signal strength normal? Are the errors low?
