I've lost channel 50. Signal strength is fine (8/10) but quality is 1/10 -- thus no channels. My wife want Quest back!

We are losing signal strength momentarily most evenings at around 6.15 p.m. Our picture freezes then disappears and a weak signal message appears before going back to normal functioning. Does something regularly happen to transmissions at around that time? We receive our signal from Pontop Pike.

Peter Watson: That sounds more like local electrical interference being generated from something operating on a timer switch as it turns on.

John Leather: Have you checked for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV? Do not attempt to retune.

Hi There
Can you tell me which aerial type I need for good reception of TV signals in the village of Newbottle (DH4) from the Pontop Pike transmitter. My television sometimes tells me I have poor signal quality or strength.
Apart from a line of trees about 200 yards from my house I have line of sight to the transmitter about 15 miles away.
Many thanks Guy

Guu: A wideband aerial would be recommended as there will be various frequency changes at Pontop Pike over the next 18 months. To see the signal prediction for your location we need a full postcode.

Dawn Turner:
Please check all your aerial cables and connections, unplugging all coaxial plugs and sockets and then refitting them. That will clear any corrosion/oxidation that is a common cause of the probl;ems you report. There are no reported problems with the Pontop Pike main transmitter that serves many thousands of homes. If there were problems then many others would have reported them but there are no such reports.

My Panasonic TV since the 24th October 2018 will only show now and next on the full epg, prior to that date it would show the full week but when the data for 24th October and beyond is just blank. Has something on how the epg is transmitted changed or is it because of the upcoming clock change
