Brian: Although this is neither here nor there if your reception has previously been OK prior to the commencement of the engineering works at Rowridge, but now is known you are located at 20 miles away from said transmitter can you confirm that your aerial has been mounted vertically?, the purpose of being to enable you to obtain maximum signal strength from the three commercial muxes and which only radiate at 200kw on vertical polarity, whereas 50Kw on horizontal.
By the way the BBC and ITV stations radiate at 200Kw on both polarities, the other point being that in cases where the signal is intermittently diving downwards then its not so much turning the aerial than can "sometimes" help, but moving its mounting position slightly to the left or right of its present location.
Although as having previous said, I wouldn't alter anything as yet but wait until Rowridge gives the all clear.
P.S: You aerial should be vertically mounted irrespective of anything else that may have been discussed.

@Jamie, thanks for the offer will keep it in mind.
@John, yes can confirm aerial is vertical, from memory I changed to vertical when HD switched on. It is Looking more and more likely that it was the transmitter work, as I said previously no problem after 15:30 Friday and had it on HD today since 07:00 and no signal probs at all......if all is well till Monday may tell J.L. to cancel replacing it.

Hi, I reported recently having problems with some channels. I now have NO channels. The EPG is working ok. I am in the SO17 area. Before I do a reset, is there anything else I should do?

I've fixed the main problem by resetting the box. Still having problems with the ArqA channels, though.

I see that you had this same problem a while back.
It may be that your reception is marginal which could be down to many different things.

Sky are updating software on stbs in October, this update will take away the option to turn off/on rf2.
Does anybody know if this will make the rf2 permanently ON or OFF??????
This could affect everyone that uses a magic eye!

Mel: Firstly check your aerial - a broken connection, loose cable may be the problem.
Also look at the terrain plot for your postcode - there is a big something sticking up about 6km away from you between the transmitter and your location, which is possibly a problem. perhaps one of the reception gurus can add more.

Hi, I am an installer local to you and know your location well.
It is very good for reception, so there must be something wrong with either the aerial, the cabling, the tv or if the aerial feeds multiple rooms it could be the splitter/amp.
If you don't get a resolve and want a free assessment the please contact me.
