Sandy Heath Tx 21.38 on 11-Dec 2014 : Com 7 (BBC 4 HD) chan 32 has gone missing from my Toshiba TV, despite several rescans; however other muxes are OK. However Com 7 BBC 4 HD is OK on my Humax Terrestrial box. What is going on ? I note that Com 7 MUX only has 50 kW .... has this been reduced recently ? Thanks, JB.

I live in Cambridge and, over the past few months, my neighbor and I have been having increasingly poor BBC and other channels (not ITV) reception. Have re-tuned but to no effect. Can anyone suggest a reason?

Peter: A postcode would be helpful, but if your getting worse reception, its generally a problem with your system, perhaps a loose connection or frayed wire, etc. Check which transmitter your on - if you've retuned, you might not have the best transmitter. Are there any trees in the way? And remember that while you and your neighbour might both have problems, they may not have the same cause.

Catherine: I take it that you live in Cambridge not in one of the (rare) not-spots around the edges. I'm in CB1 2 (Petersfield ward) and have no issues. Whereabouts are you? Check that you have a WIDEBAND aerial, pointing WSW (towards Sandy Heath). Mine's even in the loft and works well!

Richard Wood, Catherine and Peter.
Further to Richards suggestion about a 'wideband' aerial I would strongly recommend investing in a log-periodic and not a wideband Yagi. The log-periodic is much better and will be suitable for the foreseeable future broadcasting.

Hi,
There is a discussion on Spotted Leighton Buzzard - facebook blaming the recently erected wind turbine affecting TV signals in the nearby village of Heath and reach.
Since its erection (about aweek ago)peoples freeview is suffering from pixilation. I also have seen this.
However, if i come off the hd channels (101 etc) and us the SD channels ( ch1 etc) no problems occur.
So two things spring to mind:
1, The wind turbine is effecting the rx'ed signal
2, it just happens that the power levels on the HD channels have been turned down at the same time of the turbine being built
Grateful for any info/thoughts
Dewi
