All channels are poorer now used to be 100% . now only 30/50/% .. Why is this my aerial is wideband and looks OK I checked cable's all OK a lot of people here are complaining of poor reception its no good at all its Christmas and I'll very likely have to watch the EastEnders special with blocks ...

rosey : Many parts of NN5 area are, and always have been, notorious for suffering from variable levels of reception from the Sandy Transmitter basically due to the signal path from Sandy's mast not having a clear line of sight to the area, this then resulting in the signal being vulnerable to the effects of seasonal changes to the surface of the terrain, as well as to a lesser degree, problems caused by atmospheric changes.
This was the reason for the local Dallington Park relay being built, albeit that its a Freeview "light" PSB only transmitter, hence why viewers prefer (where possible) using the Sandy full service transmitter.
That said, check to make sure that any jumper leads used between devices are firmly seated into their sockets, and in cases like this its always best (if possible) to try and check with a neighbour etc to find out if they are also suffering from similar problems with reception, if not, then the problem is liable to be caused by a deficiency in your aerial system, such as water having entered the coax termination box on the actual aerial etc.

It doesn't serve enough people to make it commercially viable. It costs the broadcasters quite a bit of money to run the transmitters and if they don't get enough exposure of the adverts, and hgence a hoped for income from product sales, they will not invest in the transmitter. That's what commercial TV is all about.

Hello is high pressure in the UK at the moment the reason I ask is because I have an indoor aerial and its getting really good TV reception better than I could ever image . all of them are 100% q . 90.100% s .

erick : On the assumption that your TV or box is unable to receive HD transmissions? otherwise you would have added HD programmes to your list, then what you mentioned is inclined to indicate that you are located in a Freeview light transmission area, stations such as this not transmitting other than PSB programmes.
Unable to confirm if you are or not without knowledge of your post code.
