Hi, I believe I get my channels from the stockland hill transmitter. I'm on freeview, and on 103 ITV1 HD, I get the local news from midlands rather than the west? It just makes no sense to me!

Ethan Holmes:

ITV currently have a limited number of sub-regions for Freeview +1s & HD.
Central (West) currently serves Central, West & South-West.
They are planning to eventually provide local regional news for Freeview HD as they have done already on Satellite HD and as the BBC have just completed on Freeview (Satellite HD had been completed previously).
There doesn't seem to be a timescale yet for this, it's been suggested that as ITV are a commercial company there are number of contractual issues to resolve first.

I don't receive any of the Com4, 5 or 6 channels.
All other channels are fine.
I'm at EX2 9AY...I would've thought I would receive all.
It's a 2021 Samsung TV.

Mark:

Which way is your aerial pointing?

If it's pointing ~WNW with its rods (or squashed Xs) vertical, it's pointing at the Exeter St. Thomas relay transmitter which is Freeview "Light" and only has the PSBs.
If it's pointing at compass bearing 72 degrees ~ENE with its rods horizontal, it's pointing at the main Stockland Hill transmitter which has all 6 multiplexes. However, reception of the COM muxes is predicted to be (very) variable at your postcode.

Depending on when you last tuned/retuned, if it was in more adverse weather conditions, maybe when there was some tropospheric ducting causing interference from more distant transmitters (there's been some affecting parts of the SW & elsewhere off & on recently), the set may have missed the weaker (or non-existent) COM multiplex signals.

You are likely to need a high gain Group A or Group K aerial pointing at Stockland Hill to get the COMs

If you aerila is already pointing that way, Autotune can sometimes miss weaker signals so try a Manual tune on the following UHF channels - C25, C22, & C28 for CMs 4,5 & 6.
(The PSBs are C26, C23, C29).

Bob: Group K is the new "wideband" for C21 to C48. Group A is C21 to C27.

Hi
I live in Aylesbeare and the terrestrial aerial is pointed at Stockland Hill. I was getting a bit annoyed that the ITV HD channel (103) was showing Central local news so I performed various auto tunes, manual tunes etc. to no avail but, from your excellent website, can see that Stockland Hill does not broadcast ITV HD Westcountry local programming. If it can broadcast Central or Meridian, then why not Westcountry? Seems very odd!

Steve: Until a few months ago there were only 4 versions of the PSB3 HD multiplex (which carries ITV HD) across the whole of England. This was replaced using new equipment to enable BBC One HD regions, however ITV have not yet given a date for when they will remaining HD regions on Freeview. It has been suggested elsewhere that ITV are waiting for existing contracts to expire before the work to enable the remaining HD regions can be completed.

About 2 weeks ago I lost all Com6, C28 (529.8Mhz) signals on one of my TVs. Retuning has not solved the problem nor has fitting a Restore TV filter.

What is the problem?
