Hi I have just fitted a new aerial on a pole on the side of my house to go with my new tv which has Freeview, in the bedroom. The aerial is pointing towards the Sudbury transmitter. I live in the CM2 9JT area, I can only receive about 20 channels. I have tried all the different forms of tunning but still no luck. Should I use a meter to set my aerial up. Hope you can help, many thanks Kevin.

Kevin Regan: You are in a very strong signal area, you may have a signal overload.

If you have a booster or amplifier, then remove it.

If you don't, you should try an attenuator (they cost about a fiver) to bring the signal levels down.

Hi,
Until recentlywe have had a reasonable signal down here in Southend on sea from Bluebell Hill (Meridian) I have a wideband aerial fitted. Today I retuned my TV and now have over 20 more stations although my ITV is now Anglia. Meridian is also available on 801. My question is, should I repoint my aerial towards Sudbury, if so will I get a better signal on Anglia or should I leave it as it is until the change over next July.
Regards
Steve Priest

I got my aerial rigger round today to change me from Bluebell to Sudbury mainly because Im fed up with the local news about the south coast. Have retuned my set and recorder but no Film 4 When I check out the Sudbury website they are only using 1100 watts for transmission as opposed to 100,000watts for BBC 1

Cheers Paul,
I am getting film 4 but that is probably from BH i reckon. I am probably going to keep my aerial as it is until the Meridian changeover next year. Thanks for your help mate.

Steve

I also live in Southend on Sea SS0 area and have found problems since the Anglia switch over. My Aerial points to Sudbury and prior to switch over I received channel 12 "Yesterday". Since switch over I no longer receive channel 12. I have also checked in the 800 range and it isn't listed there either.

Pete. you're receiver is probably being swamped by signal from the new Relay at Rouncefall (PSB and HD muxes only).
You probably won't get the COM muxes back from Sudbury until 27 June 2012 - when they'll be increased to 100kW TX power too.

Hi
I am in Basildon SS13 and was advised to use the Sudbury transmitter.
Well have just managed to get round to putting up the aerial but how do I know where to point to, every aerial round here seems to be pointing in different directions.
