Oh well I tried my Samsung BD-C8200 box at my parents (CB11) and could get no HD from Sandy, their Panasonic TV pulls it in ok. I have emailed Amazon concerning a warranty return. I await their reply in anticipation.

There only about 5 areas for ITV1+1 and ITV HD. So you only get Meridian. I live in Sometset and have make do with Welch on those two.

Gary Dadds: Thanks for the update, which has somewhat proved my suspicions about the box, however this was reinforced when I finally managed to have a look at the user manuals spec for that device, as it doesnt state that its capable of operating on DVB-T2, the UK's freeview HD standard, as its only shown as a DVB-T device, that being the cause of your problem.

jb38: Amazon have offered a full refund, a bit quick off the mark there since I only emailed them at about 9.00pm last night and had a reply awaiting me at 8.00am this morning. Something I have noticed is that Samsung have released a BD-D8200 whereas mine is a BD-C8200. I wonder if that one will work?

pm: You might want to try removing the booster from your system - having too strong a signal will cause the kind of problems you have. You are in a very strong signal area, you shouldn't need a booster.

I swung my aerial round to Blubell Hill and found that the signals were too low, bearing in mind that I have taken off the mast head amp the mux signals varied from 10% to 24%. The quality of the signal on the higher ones were 100% but the lower ones were only 10%. I couldn't receive anything from London or Dover. I know people living less than 500m from me can, I think it depends which way the wind blows. I'm sure if I did fit the amp back in line I could watch Bluebell hill but I think I will wait until next year when London, Dover and Bluebell hill switch over.
Thanks.
John.

PS.
The signals from Sudbury/Rounefall on the back of the aerial were 64% for strength and 100% for quality.
