I suddenly lost channel 33 yesterday - neither reset autotuning nor manual tuning works yet no problems are reported. I don't see any adverse weather and nothing else has changed - same TV, aerial and all other channels are normal from Sutton Coldfield.

Just discovered that the Sutton Coldfield transmitter apparently moved com7 and com8 yesterday from channels 33 and 35 to 55 and 56 respectively. I can't get any reception for the new frequencies: why not?

I can receive 55 and 56 from Sutton on my (newish) Samsung UHD TV.
I can't receive 55 and 56 on my older and smaller Samsung SD TV, despite them being listed by the manual tuning function. Both TV's are connected to the same aerial.
It looks as though some older and cheaper TV's simply can't receive channels 55 and 56.

Mel: COM7 & COM8 broadcast using DVB-T2 (this has nothing to do with the frequencies they are broadcast on) and are therefore only receivable on TVs/PVRs/set top boxes that support DVB-T2 (most will have the Freeview HD logo).

Most communal aerial systems are fitted with selective filters and if the broadcast channels are changed those filters often need attention to get all the available channels back. So I suggest that firstly you do a manual tune on the programmes you are missing and if they do not reappear, contact your complex management organisation to get them to have the aerial system attended to. It is also worth asking your neighbours who also use Freeview whether thay have the same problem. If so, the aerial system definitely needs attention.

Not saying this is true in all cases but our communal system provides signals for the local channel group only and if the interim muxes fall outside the local group (as they once did) that's just too bad because the housing association is not willing to spend money on a complex update to over 150 separate installations which benefits a relatively handful of viewers. There is nothing in the rental agreement which says they have to provide all available terrestrial channels either. It's tough luck on some tenants but that's just the way it is.

since retuning my freeview TV last Thursday I thought we would be receiving more HD programs not fewer, amongst the worst omissions is BBC 4 HD which I could receive well before the so called improvements but there is no channel 106 as listed on your website guide and even after several retunes I still have had no joy in receiving this once quality channel , help please !

David Bond: What made you think you would get more HD channels? There have been no recent announcement of any new HD channels launching on Freeview. To answer why you have lost BBC Four HD we need to know which transmitter you're using and where you are in relation to it (please provide a full postcode so that we can access your coverage prediction).
