HI
The loop aerial will generally pick up everything thats available and isnt really directional so you cant decide where it picks up from by pointing it (as there is nothing to point)
The signal from Emley got significantly stronger today - this is probably why its tuned them in

Ive done a few of aerials on your road and loads in your surrounding area
your in a strange situation(or was) where the signal is really weak heading into your area because of Totley Rise transmitter from cross pool
Emley moor was almost unusable I resorted to using the Chesterfield transmitter on one property on renshaw road in sheer frustration (it worked though) dam annoying as from the roof I could see crosspool !
see this http://www.paras.org.uk/d….pdf
just for your info
Hope everything goes well

Thanks KB.
It was you that fitted our new aerial back in May, and I'm pretty sure you said it was pointed at Crosspool. The Freeview was pretty much unusable except for BBC channels as we were right on the the edge of the segment which was switched off due to Totley Rise problem, but as soon as switchover occurred we got good channels across the board.
One problem I did have was with ghosting of the analogue signal coming through on the digital channels, but finally sorted this out with an individually screened scart lead. I mention this as it took me a while to sort out what was causing it, so it might help anyone else who may have the same problem.

Cheap scart leads arnt very good but there is a fine line between buying a decent one and a ridiculously priced one that fleeces every ounce of coins from ones pocket
Hopefully now I can come into that little segmant that wasnt covered by cross pool and actually do the job that I set out to do
Its so frustrating when You can see the transmitter and can't get a signal from the thing
you go into these areas thinking I hope I can get something or im going to look a prat
any how _ I hope you was satisfied with the quality of work done

Don't know if this is classed as advertising, but the scart lead I got cost all of £6 from ATV and works much better. Don't need flashy gold plated singing and dancing thing, which wouldn't have made any difference anyway if it's not individually screened. It's just a shame that when you fork out £170 for a Humax they can't manage to put a decent scart in with it. (Although having said that, no-one else I know with a Humax has had the same ghosting problem).

Hi
We are at S42 6RH. We have two aeriels. One continues to receive digital signals. One now has nothing at all (but used to be ok). Both have old aerials. The (now failed) aerial was set up by myself by eye. It was pointed slightly to the west of the other aerial. Over the past few weeks it has canged from strong on the BBC channels and weak on ITV to the other way around - but never strong on both sets. I would welcome advice (I am more of a satellite person that aerial - but like to think that I am reasonably competent with a spanner and ladder!)
