Triode - so long since I have seen that written down that it looks odd!

What Mike is being too delicate to say is

Does your son actually have an HD Box, or a TV with an HV TUNER, because "HD Ready" usually does NOT mean "can receive HD" just "got enough definition for HD".

NOT the TV makers' fault - they can't include tuners until standards are agreed.

Dusty: I'm not sure if the power is increased, or you just now do not have interference from other transmitters that have switched to digital only.

Hi Arthur

Did you see the note above - and below?

Maybe they are changing over now to the final settings?

Do you have neighbours who use freeview - see if they experienced the same?

I am at the other side of the Chirch but only using Freesat now, so can't try myself.

After switchover frequency notes ():
Bromsgrove, Lark Stoke and The Wrekin will operate as a single frequency network (SFN).
After the PSB multiplexes switch at The Wrekin, the Arqiva multiplexes will remain on their pre-switchover frequencies and powers, and SDN will use a temporary frequency, for a short period before all three multiplexes adopt their final frequencies and powers during September 2011. During this transition period the commercial multiplexes will use the following frequencies: SDN ch49 and ch31 (both 2kW), Arqiva A ch57 (not 53) (1kW), Arqiva B ch53 (not 57) (1kW).

I am in ST7 4UB in a bungalow with a wideband rooftop aerial. When digital was first available I got most channels. At the moment I am getting all channel 26 and 23 and channel 46 but the last comes and goes. All the others went off in July or later. My aerial I think points to the Wrekin,on my Humax PVR the signal detection status page says West Midlands for the transmitter and gives the channel numbers as above. The on screen messages told me to re-tune on September 7th and 21st but after the 7th the EPG did not even show the other channels,(eg pick TV). It looks as though I can get all the 20000kw channels ok. The 2000 kw is intermittent and I cannot get the 1000kw. Is there any date for these transmission strengths to be upped? By the way I have turned the aerial 360 deg and it gets nothing from any other direction.
