george rudd : Further to the above posting I checked out your location and found you live in a block of flats which appears to have a communal aerial on the side!
I would suggest that you should check with others in the block to see if they have lost COM5 which carries Pick TV, Dave, Really, Movie Mix and others.
It is possible that the communal aerial system is filtered and therefore there will be no possibility of your TV tuning to the signals from another transmitter (as described above) because they are blocked.
With that in mind it could be intereference from a 4G mobile base station operating at 800MHz which is just above the BBC standard definition services on C60. It is down to whoever is responsible for the aerial system to sort it out, by having an appropriate filter fitted.

For a couple of weeks I have had Mux 2 ( C4, c4+1, E4 etc )flickering channel/black making it unwatcheable. I can see the Whitehawk transmitter from my window and get a very strong signal. All other channels are OK. I have retuned and scanned only the specified frequency and no change. Any advice? I use a Cinergy USB adapter into the PC.

Since the thunder storms on Friday 2nd August in the morning my BBC channels are all now really bad and keep going pixelated or lose signal altogether. ALL other channels are fine! Ironic that the "free" channels are fine but the licence fee channels are gone - what exactly do I pay may licence for!!!!! Have tried retuning several times, checked all the cables. Short of paying an engineer to come out don't know what else to do!

J Potton: Unfortunately, you've not surpplied a postcode, so it very difficult to give advice about reception, nor what transmitter your using. It could be that your aerial has a problem (or the cable from it), or (if you have a booster, splitter), that the storm frazzled it.
One other thing occurs - what is your signal strength? 75% is perfect, while 100% is far too high. If you have a booster, try bypassing it and see if it helps.
As far as the licence fee - it can't guarentee a signal - thats geography and physics.

I live in RG14 5HT and since Thursday can get no BBC programmes. ITV is OK.

Linda Veness: Engineering work has been taking place at Hannington since the 19th and with the services being liable to interruption, if your TV has been retuned (possibly automatically) at the time the BBC transmitter was down then this could be the reason for your problem.
You should carry out another auto-tune as this might restore the channel, if though it doesn't then carry out a "fist time installation", this also known as "factory reset" or "default setting" or similar.

Hi Briantist,
Yes I do have a rooftop aerial however I live in flats and I'm in the basement.
I've tried 2 different freeview boxes, a few days ago I could only get channels 18-22 and now nothing at all....just 'No Signal'

Lisa B: If this problem has just occurred then what you have said can indicate a fault on your aerial system, however if your box is coupled into a wall socket then try using another jumper lead, if though the aerial cable goes straight into your box then check the connector on the end of the coax for loose strands of the braiding shorting onto the middle core.
If you do find anything iffy about your aerial connections and have taken remedial action, then please remember that the channels will not return unless you carry out another an auto-tune.
